As per the Good Morning thread, thinking of getting a coffee machine for the office we already have a nice Gaggia in the kitchen but thinking something quick and simple maybe a pod type machine. Knowing most of you lot are fuelled by petrol of coffee I wondered if anyone has any recommendations?

Personally I have a Gaggia Classic, with the old style porta filter and loose ground coffee. It can be a bit messy, but I don’t like the idea of filling up the bin with pods.

I've always wanted a decent one, but until we stop working from home, will resist simply for my caffeine levels.

I have to confess that the Nespresso ones make pretty good coffee, but as @Zep says, there's the pods to consider.

I've tried most and Nespresso remains my 'go to'. I may consider Vertuo next though. Don't forget the pods are recyclable. Just get a recycling bag from Nespresso, drop off at Collect Plus...

We had a Nespresso one in the office at work and always found it easy to use and a good selection of different pods. We had a Nespresso concession in the store so recycling pods was always a doddle. Might go and have a look

Very good, unless I guess you are a connoisseur.

Delonghi Magnifica S - had one for 10 years - no pods or filters - bean to cup and reasonably priced

Oooh. I like that. The milk jug looks pretty handy.
Can't rate the sage highly enough.
Simple to look after and a great coffee everytime.
Just going to make my second of the morning :)

The pods can be “sent” to recycling....
Indeed. Last time I looked at a piece about them, it wasn't really that green. But then, I guess all coffee has quite a lot of food miles ;)

that's the problem right there, many moons ago i had to fill the the bloomin cafetiere with water, then ground coffee and then on the hob and wait, a right ball ache and only bothered on the the odd day for an espresso, since getting a built in neff bean to cup machine about 13 years ago i just have to press a button and within seconds i get an espresso and before i know it i've had 4/5 in the space of 30 minutes, it's far too addictive when its that simple

We have Nespresso at work. Really quick and easy, with no mess. And there’s plenty of different flavours/styles of capsule, so you don’t get bored.

This. I make a big french press, then microwave what I want as I need it. And try to avoid making another, although with Mrs C around it's not that easy.

At our old office we had a Nespresso and free soft drinks. Used to be a constant battle between 4-5 espressos and 4-5 diet cokes. Don't miss it, in all honesty.
