If ever proof is required that I can offer no “relevant technical knowledge or experience”, I think I’ve just provided it.
Well you should fit right in

Just had a quick look at RG's 3200 AC. Looks amazing and I reckon the rebuild costs must have exceeded the sale price!Welcome. There have been a few new arrrivals looking at Gransports last few months and one or two cars purchased. Search should reveal threads on their journey and cars they looked at and the short list of best cars currently for sale (and I think it was quite a short list). It is a great choice though and an easier ownership proposition than a 3200 in my opinion (though having said that @dickygrace has just listed a
lovely looking 3200 AC for sale). I have a Gransport for sale but it is an MC-Victory version (again lots of threads on the differences from the standard car on here) and at a different price point. All the best for your search.
Yes indeed. I’ve driven three 3200s. And I’m booked in to view a fourth tomorrow. They’ve all been intoxicating experiences in their own way.Just the red shoes.
Have you driven a 3200, GS or GT yet?
Might actually be a 936 so we both fit in.If ever proof is required that I can offer no “relevant technical knowledge or experience”, I think I’ve just provided it.

Gransport experience is currently limited to sitting in but not driving. I do have experience of paddle change in a BMW and I was lucky enough to drive a DB9 a while ago, so looking forward to how they compare…
That's one name for him. Mine starts with a C thoughMatching shoes and, er…., small red electrical connector on the front of a racing car…? Plus he has a clipboard. Must be a scrutineer.
Thanks. The MC Victory does look rather special. Over budget for me, sadly.Welcome. There have been a few new arrrivals looking at Gransports last few months and one or two cars purchased. Sage advice. Thanks!Just had a quick look at RG's 3200 AC. Looks amazing and I reckon the rebuild costs must have exceeded the sale price!
MC60, I recently bought my 5th Maserati (GranSport LE) after two QPV GTs, a GranTurismo MC Shift and an MC Stradale. All great cars and offering different flavours of Maserati ownership from the 00s and 10s. The important facts from my perspective are; buy a good one such as from Richard Grace or have any you want to buy fully inspected by someone like SportsItalis and never forget there is no such thing as a cheap Maserati! Bad ones might be cheap to buy but very expensive in the long run. Looking forward to hearing how it goes and PM me if you want to discuss my experiences to date. Also happy to take you for a spin in my GS if you are in the area.
Apologies for the thread drift. Saw this earlier.
I’ve a friend about to sell his 3200. It’s a late example, low miles, low owners, full history, in blue. Plus had an engine rebuild at Emblem to sort out the usual end-float issue, so that’s the big worry taken care of. PM me if of interest.Hi! A Sebring, Ghibli or Khamsin….
… in my dreams!! I’ve flirted with the idea of a Granturismo but these days I prefer to drive as if I’m wearing my slippers. So I’m focusing on a 3200 or a Gransport.
I remember seeing the 3200 at Goodwood Festival of Speed when they first appeared. It seemed like a rebirth of the marque at the time. But with 20+ years of hindsight it looks more like the last of the line, perhaps. And what a thrilling end.
But a Gransport seems like a more grown up option (if that means anything in the context of a 400 horsepower weekend toy).
Choices, choices…
Welcome – I've been here for years and I don't own one (yet) and it's a great source of reference material.Hello All
Just a brief note to introduce myself.
I’ve been an admirer of Maserati since the 1980s when I lived not too far from Meridian in Lyndhurst. I’ve never been fortunate enough to own one, but I’m now starting my search.
Sadly I don’t have any relevant technical knowledge or experience to contribute but I hope to find some way to be an asset to the forum.
I’m looking forward to my Maserati journey!
All good wishes
When I was in the same position as you, I was originally thinking of buying a 3200, got cold feet and bought a Gransport. It was great, but I still have a pang of want for one.
Having driven @allandwf ‘s AC in Modena they are a very different beast to a GS in a similar dress.
Stevie P has a pair of those. Possibly a few pairs.Outrageous! Velvet embroidered loafers are perfect driving shoes in a 612! Comfortable all the way to the yacht in the Med......
I think a lot of us think the same, heart says 3200 head say 4200 or GS. The decision you make defines the type of person you areI wanted one when I bought my 4200. The 3200 was the Maserati I fell in love with. Didn't have the nerve then.

There does seem to be a consensus that the Gransport offers an easier ownership proposition. Maybe a 3200 is too much to swallow for a first timer?
