Think the noise could wake the dead!Second that Great Result.
That's a couple of us that have that Tee shirt now.
I started mine up with just the manifolds on sounded Great and emptied the Pub opposite my house.
They called me Enzo in there having the 4200 and the 360 back then.
Absolute pleasure mate.Think the noise could wake the dead!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge/experience, made an otherwise daunting job seem doable

Wow what's your Mini rev too ?Exhaust separated from the manifold at the y piece while testing the Mini last week. Wouldn’t rev over 7k when that happened, quite surprised how much of a performance drop it caused.

My old Datsun Sunny 1300 push rod overhead valve used to rev to 9,000

What engine spec have you got in your Mini?Rev limiter is set at 8250 I think. Don’t really go that far unless there’s a particular reason. It’d rev more but is starting to go off the boil.
Fantastic, love a dcoe on an a series, bet it sounds angry! Its 1293cc, flowed Cooper S head, forged pistons, modified standard rods, modified standard crank, race cam on a 45DCOE

Brilliant!I always think it’s a bit drony from inside, usually have ear plugs in too.

Thanks, I think it sounded more ‘top endy’ and it’s a manual. But maybe it could still be the release bearing or something? I’ll try it tonight. You sure it’s not the clutch disengaging they do that after 3-4 mins and makes quite a nasty sound. All perfectly mormal
It’s alive!
Engine was enough back together today to turn it over on the starter with the fuel off, oil pressure came up nicely. Fuel back on on and it fired into life (loudly! With just the manifolds on). Oil pressure spot on and no leaks, I’m having a beer to celebrate.
Engine bay not looking bad with the repainted cam covers and leaving the inlet bare.
Few clips to put back on, exhausts, anti roll bar and then put the suspension back together from the subframe exchange and it’ll be back on the road.
