Just a little update from our humble workshop down in Southampton.

Its been a whirlwind 6 months and many forum member cars have received service and we now are running at full capacity so there is a few weeks wait for any routine maintenance to be seen. We do however, still take on immediate urgent jobs that render cars unusable.

Our service rate of £55 per hour to forum members will remain, however, we are rushing to our VAT threshold so we will only be able to offer VAT free works until the end of this year, then we will be forced to register.

So if you want to take advantage of this, now is the time to book in with us.

Along with all things Maserati and Ferrari, we are taking on other projects from marques such as Bentley, McLaren and Porsche.

Plans for the future, well, having spread to 2 units in 6 months and 3 ramp/work bays, more capacity is required so we are actively looking in the area to expand and the possibility of building something bespoke. This will include an expansion of our currently limited car storage facility, a customer waiting area and SM members social lounge with a 2 post lift and tools for those whom wish to tinker. We also plan to offer courtesy cars and our own car transporter services.

The feedback we are getting from our customers is all positive and we pride ourselves on doing things the correct way, looking after members cars while continuing to bring the cost in at a palatable level.

From a personal level, I am going back to college! Yes, me sat at a desk, evening revision and exams...fitting in with 'doing things the correct way' I need to get qualified (IMechE) before I am unleashed on the vehicles, as currently, my roles are in the running of the business, customer liaison, accounts and planning...making the tea and pushing the broom around :(

After my initial college qualification, I will be attending Maserati courses to become certified. Who said you cant teach an old dog new tricks :)

Thats it for now, more to come as it happens and a final thank you to all for your valued support.

I have been lucky enough to spend a couple of days with the chaps over the last couple of weeks while my car has been having a thorough service, and I have to say the attention to detail has been stunning.

I have had the major service done, which has included:

Fluids and filters (engine oil & filter, trans oil, PAS fluid, antifreeze and brake fluids)
Replacement stretch and aux belts
New front tyres
Stripping, inspecting and cleaning all of the brakes including exercising the pistons to ward off seizure
New front wishbone bushes
Spark plugs
Fan resistor
Cam cover gaskets
Carbon canister (Crazily this involves moving the petrol tank!)
Full alignment
Gearbox relearn - this seems to have resolve my occasional missed shifts
A thorough inspection of the underside including subframes - including treating bolt heads and any minor surface rust (thankfully all in very good order Athol will not be surprised to hear)
Under sealing with clear Waxoyl - so as not to hide anything with the black stuff. (My house now smells like a shoe polish factory)

The main take away is how seriously Matt, Ashley and Ryan take their business. They have spotted things that I now have on my “winter works” list (more on which later) and have thoroughly treated or resolved a lot of the potential niggles.

All in all, I can not recommend their operation highly enough. They have the right tools and experience plus the passion to treat the cars as if they are their own - as I could see as Matt was re-gluing the dash top, A pillar, door cards and sorting the sticky button on another customers car all as a part of the service while mine was being fettled by Ashley.

Thank you again gents.

It is always nice to hear about garages / businesses that actually care - and I have asked Matt to book me in for under body protection and carplay fitting despite it being a good distance for me.

I have owned a number of exotic cars and motorbikes over the years and trust very few people to work on my vehicles. Likewise with my TR6.

In fact (and as it is a keeper) I now do all of the work on my MV Agusta myself as I don;t need to concern myself with FSH and care more about it being done right.

Well done boys & I look forward to popping down soon to see you all with my project car, and thank you again for the work you are doing for me - I can't wait to see the finished results.

Keep up the great work & congratulations on taking the plunge in the first place

I’ve been lax in reporting back, but I’ve nothing but praise for the team. I had the CarPlay kit fitted, which went well and I’m really pleased with. Ashley was great when I came to collect, clearly passionate and very knowledgeable. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend everyone.

A lounge would be great... esp for those who need to work whilst the car is being looked at.
