Adam,

Welcome on board mate!

I might be the youngest owner on here at 27 (bought at 26 with my hard earned), and despite what common sense would suggest...it's never too early to have a Maserati in your life!

People on here know my long distance love affair with my Maser (she's in Dubai now). We will be reunited in September, briefly, before I head off to Singapore to start my MBA in January.

Bottom line, work hard and play harder...money comes and goes, so enjoy it while you have it...and save a little for that rainy day...ok, i'm out of cliche sayings! :)

I agree with what others have said re: starting with an Alfa...I couldn't because they didn't sell Alfas in the US!!! So, I went through 2 VW GTIs first, before making the move.

So, start there and learn about the eccentricities of owning an Italian at a fraction of the cost. Once, you have kicked *** at school and landed that well paying job, and saved up (never borrow on a depreciating asset, unless you know you are good for it), then go for the kill ;)

By that time, GSs would have hit a very affordable price point, and you might even be buying from someone on here! :thumb:

Below is a reminder of just how good an Alfa Romeo can be in taking the steps to achieving a Maserati. Even this though I suspect is a no no for the average 17 year old..........perhaps start with a Mito, build up a decent record with the insurance companies, then progress to Alfa 3.2V6 and then takes the leap to 400 bhp

Thanks for the tips JP, so when you say "By that time, GSs would have hit a very affordable price point, and you might even be buying from someone on here!" i take it you may want me to purchase yours?

That does sound rather well. I like the 147 GTA, good looking, nice engine and relativly cheap, is it a good or bad Alfa to buy?
