Hi @conaero , I've bought a replacement emblem for the GranCabrio MC, as the red paint on the "M" had fallen out.New one on order about £68 and yes, you have to remove the facia to release the securing bits from behind. I may see if I can tap out the red bits on the new ones and hot glue them back in again. It’s because the metal part is chromed then the enamel is flooded is and it cant grip it.
When I received the new emblem I saw it had 4 'mounting pins' behind it; so I thought it was just a case of pulling out the old one and sliding the new one in.... but that doesn't quite appear to be the case.
I've managed to pull the old one out, but 2 of the 4 pins have broken off inside the dash! If I remove the glovebox, will I be able to remove the 2 broken pins (so they don't rattle around)? Or do I have to remove the facia that the emblem mounts on to?
What are the "securing bits" you mention in your post above?
Cheers,
T
