Matt , i can only ditto what everyone else has said , personal experiences over the last 18 months means i know only too well the set backs these kind of shock brings with them, were all rooting for normality to regain its hold once again in your lives , a sportsmaserati prayer wont go amiss either , be strong buddy she's in our thoughts

Matt - similar experiences with a close friend. He has come through and we are all grateful to still be able to drink and go to gigs together. It was a great lesson in giving people more time and worry a little less about the bills.

Hi All,
Just to update you on Emily's progress...
Emily was finally strong enough to be taken off the ventilator and brought out of sedation on Friday. The doctors had been pleased with her rate of recovery and had hoped to do this a little sooner, but a re-build up of fluid on her collapsed lung required a further drain (only possible under deep sedation) which delayed the process. So suffice to say Matt and Lexi are delighted to have Emily 'back'. There's still a long way to go. Loss of weight, muscle wastage and the need to repair her respiratory system means the doctors are prescribing hospital care perhaps until Easter, but hopefully Emily will continue to recover ahead of expectations and can be home sooner.
Scary stuff! Pneumonia trips off the tongue a bit nowadays, but it's still potentially a killer, so it's all the more gratifying to know that Emily is on the way to full health again.
