Hi All,

Some of you will know Matt Fells who owns D2Detailing. He looks after my car and I know some of you have also had your cars detailed by Matt. Until recently Matt also sponsored this section of the forum.

Matt and his wife Emily recently put everything on the line to take on their own premises, with Emily leaving her previous job to join the business to run the back office and also their retail operation, as well as assisting Matt. This was a massive move, particularly as they have a small daughter Lexi, and as we all know detailing is a difficult business, particularly so in light of the current economic climate.

In spite of this they have done tremendously well with an award winning Ferrari and possibly the most glorious Pantera (on show at the Classic Motor Show) to show for their efforts so far, along with a multitude of other exotics that have received their TLC.

Sadly the best of starts was given a proper kick in the teeth over Christmas when Emily fell ill with what has turned out to be pneumonia in both lungs complicated by sciatica, all of which resulted in emergency admittance to hospital where Emily has been intubated since Friday.

I'm sure you can imagine how Matt is feeling right now; worried beyond words, but putting a brave face on it for Lexi's sake.

Please take a moment to wish Emily, Matt and Lexi well in these difficult days, either here or over on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/matt.fells.52

Thanks, Miles.

Miles

Thanks for letting us know about this. Can only second your words about their collective efforts - they have done a great job so far and deserve to succeed.
This sort of news puts everything into perspective.

Hoping Emily makes a swift recovery and all three of them are in my thoughts.

Matt,
Your wife Emily sounds like a real fighter, to stand with you in such a brave venture she has to be, it takes guts to take such a big step. Please give Emily our very best wishes for a swift recovery and hug your little girl on behalf of us all. You have a collective of strong personalities on here that are wishing you all the very best of luck for the future.
Cheers

Fate picks its moments doesn't it, Matt? What a rough start to the new year and to your wife's part in your business. You have my sympathies and my best wishes for a speedy recovery and a bright (and well-polished) future. Good luck and strength to you all.

Hi All,

I popped over to D2 this morning and spoke to Matt.

Emily is still on the ventilator, wired up to all sorts and under pretty heavy sedation, but is doing better than the doctors had expected, indeed the degree of sedation is there to stop her coming around too quickly when her lungs need more time to recover, in spite of her strong will to be conscious and active. They're going to try each day to remove the ventilator, but only in good time, which is no bad thing given she's recovering ahead of expectations.

Matt was generally in good shape, keeping busy tending to business and making sure Lexi is okay. The response from friends and all those in our 'wider community' have really helped and I know Matt reads each and every comment to Emily every day when he visits, so I'm sure Emily is appreciating the kind thoughts and regards of all, both near and far.

Please continue to spare a moment to send good vibes in Emily's direction.

Thanks, Miles.

Through very bitter experience I whole heatedly concur with the above statement. Keep the faith and hang in there.....
