Plainly ran out of talent , must admit i was actually in the driving seat for quite a while , with that rain and potential lack of grip i was surprised how quickly and often he floored it in 3rd, the torquiest gear when on cam , good watch tho Maf

Don't you love Maserati racers....No nasty plastic as most raing cars have..Still lots of alcantara and piping...Brilliant.

A brave driver in those conditions and on cold tyres.

Looks like he put a wheel on the grass at the previous apex and lost control trying to correct, as soon as he hit the grass there were two passengers in the car

Good to see them being used properly though, I would have been driving miss Daisy!

Loved it - thanks for posting.
Lived through every minute though I really don't want to criticise but there was a huge amount of superfluous wheel fiddling going on - not terribly smooth. However it's easy to say so have to thank the driver for giving us some great fun.
...and the sound is what we all enjoy on a daily basis.

I found myself sitting ever closer to the screen watching that, the rain gets heavier all the way through and the last mile or so the surface gets progressively poorer; agree the off started two bends earlier. I was expecting it about 1.5 miles back on the tight aproach right with whight armco but he sorted that one well....

Couldn't get a handle on the landscape but the tag at the end puts it in NZ 2011

Was what I thought too at first - but actually it's what you do on a course where you don't know what the grip levels are. Give the wheel a little twitch and see what grip you have. I have utmost respect for anyone that can drive rally courses that fast, I prefer to go round in circles!

Good post MAF, thanks

I was surprised, cause i expected the crash in some big curve, not in almost straight road. Once i have seen it live, in front of my eyes:if your wheel drives outside the road, one second could be enough to lose control..

Impressive.
Sad it had to end this way, but indeed, looking at the circumstances, i too expected this to happen much earlier in one of the corners.

Great video. As per Grinzzz, the driver was getting more and more confident until... An impressive road to drive on. With a bit of advanced knowledge I'm sure not only would he of completed it but done it a lot quicker. Ah! I just read there was a speed limit of 200kph hence the reason he backed off from time to time.
Good news that they managed to put it back together to continue on the following day.

Looks and sounds like the Trofeo launch software is no better than standard?.....

Floor the loud pedal.
Lots of noise.
1 mississippi, 2 mississippi......
Off we go.
