I picked up some of the trident magazines from Silverstone and I am really enjoying reading them. Alot of the names reoccur alot and you can see it is a bit of a clique but the content of the newsletter is actually really good! Tempted to try it for a year...

I've been on a few trips now Phil and don't find it cliquey at all. I also find a pint of wine occasionally makes a nice change

Fair play Arfa I think I saw your name in one of them on the Derwent trip and wondered if it was you in your old Ghibli. I just saw the same names cropping up and same pcitures etc so just wondered if there was an air of that in it but as said am very impressed with what I have seen so far.

I think it's more a case of relatively few active members getting involved in the trips, and therefore the same faces of the people who organise the events just keep appearing. They've kept encouraging me to go on the trips, but it hasn't happened yet.

I think that is probably true of most clubs, you always have a core of people that are most active.

Just as it's the same names always cropping up on this forum. So come on chaps, as Maser fans, stop worrying about £50 odd quid and join the club. In the big picture the cost is nothing, and it shows support to the factory (who do monitor this sort of thing).

I'm a member, I don't see a problem in being a member of both. Nor, do I think the two clubs overlap in the slightest.

This is primarily a Forum Club. The core of SM is the help, advice and banter shared on here. In an extremely helpful and light hearted way. We also have a bunch of excellent trips/meets: Le Mans, the Centenary, and Ace. As well as track events.

Maserati Club has a bit more interaction with the manufacturer as I understand. It focuses on events be it here or abroad. It has a regular magazine that's an interesting read. It does not have the day-to-day community as here, as there is no active forum. But they are a friendly bunch of petrol heads as well.

If anything, they compliment each other.

I'd say you've summed it up perfectly, Rossyl. Being active in both the club and the forum is the best of both Worlds.

I struggle to keep up with all the events on here so I just don't have the time to undertake any more.

As for closer relations to the factory, well, they are just looking after their spending customers as the centenary trip highlighted, they don't give a toss about the enthusiast.

I can tell you that many in the 'owners club' are livid about the way the factory has handled the Centenary, and very few are attending. It's supposed to be a 'gathering' organised by the local club, but in this case the factory have locked out the Italian club completely, resulting in the ridiculous set of events aimed not at the enthusiasts.

As a recent newcomer to the maserati enthusiast scene, I have to say how surprised I am that maserati don't draw on the enthusiasm of those of us who keep the older cars running.
At what ever level, we are the second hand market.
Maserati have a couple of twitter accounts, maybe we should get more vocal on there ?
I don't have a polo pony but I do enjoy my car and would love the reassurance that we can keep these fabulous vehicles running.

Drew, can you arrange a meet up with the Italian club, strength in numbers and all that.

The Alternative Maserati celebration will be a more interesting and I suspect better attended event after all this info

Can we like invade the parco Enzo Ferrari in Modena and get all the clubs to meet up there? The Italian club could organise it? Last count there was talk of 150 cars from UK, France and Germany, it would be good to gather some where? And hire a really big bar!
