I quite like it, though I prefer the back to the front, almost like two different cars.

It is very nice, but why did they bother with the back seats? I guess it's only a concept, so it's allowed to be impractical, but would have been better as a 2-seater or a full 4 seater GT.

Shows some interesting design thoughts, not too Jag, not too Ferrari etc...

Like it.

Edit: looked at it on a bigger screen and the front looks a mess with those bars on the grille and from the sides it has folds disappearing all over the place...and the blue highlights are...erm...special (said with that annoying uplift to the voice that implies I'm either Australian or confused..or both). But you're right, BJL, from the headlights back is great.

Looks purposeful.

Looks like an American gangster with that grille and wheels.....

I like the overall shape but less 'bling' please!!!!

The eventual production car, if it will ever come, surely will be less "blingy".

I do hope so. The grill looks like like they nicked it off a 1950s Dodge.

From the headlights back it looks good but not very modern unlike the F12, 458 or FF which ooze 21st century

The four things I am struggling with here:
-can't see how it's weight will be less than 1400kg unless Maserati is now stating weights dry and will make it out of aluminium;
-it's essentially based on a shortened QP chassis from 2004;
-it has a gearbox that is as old as the hills and only has six ratios; and
-sweet as the engine in my car is, it's bloody old too and low on power!

Come on Maserati, it looks very interesting and going for a smaller car makes sense but the technology presented here is nothing fancy. Ferrari needs to let Maserati breath and develop. I'm not seeing that today.

Says it has a shortened Stradale chassis, well that's just a GranTurismo chassis which is itself as shortened QPV one. Says it has the MC F1 gearbox.

I like the side profile, looks like a more muscular GranTurismo, the front and back are trying a bit too hard, and as already mentioned they don't really gel and look like their from two different cars.The front reminds me of a mixture between a Ferrari 458 and a R8 with its bite your head off look, and the rear looks like a cross between a TVR T350 and a Jag F-Type.

Front end certainly needs some work but prototypes are all about driving discussion.

However I can't see Maserati having the resources to drive 4 new models over a few years, Ghibli & QP are already here a mid engined 4C based 2 seater and this GT 2+2 coming ?

Seems a bit of a stretch, that is more than either Fiat or Alfa can deliver and they have a broader appeal / customer base.

All I can say is so much for planning on keeping the GranSport....I want one!

Ditto.

By the time it comes out in production, I'm sure they will have modified it....taking into account the comments on SM obviously.

Sorry peeps but I am missing something. I haven't seen any press release with the car details in terms of engine, gearbox, chassis etc. Can you point me to a link?

Car mags' speculations are probably gonna fill the pages till official word comes out.
