Goes without saying Matt , job done , the guinness book of records application was filed this morning , i have yet to confirm the charity/charities that will recieve any/all of the proceeds , open to advice from members on here i will have to make a decision by the end of today so if you have knowledge of any deserving cause please reply with their details and their registration No

regards loz
Loz,

If the charitable apsects of this event have not yet been determined then I would encourage members to support the RNLI. On a separate note I am arranging a Maserati visit to the RNLI lifeboat College in Poole, Dorset. This will be on Monday 28th June, 2010. This is a variation on a date that I suggested previously. Anyway full details will be published soon. Do you fancy helping me manage this event ie IT support on this forum, route planning etc?

Regards,

Paul

Goes without saying Paul , we'd be only too honored to support the event and the RNLI they have always been a charity close to my heart , having been marine orientated for quite some years ( didn't want to say a sailor it sounds a bit camp ) hehhe i know only too well, the value of the service they provide , count us in , just pm me what you need and consider it done ,

re the GWR attemp we'll need all the help of everyone to make it a success , Would be happy to consider the RNLI as one of the deserving charities , it will be our aim , to support those charities that are affiliated to the clubs/ organisations that help out towards the event

great idea.

I vote Blenheim palace - if we want media, they'll turn out for that.

and there would be enough space .

and its a beautiful venue for beautiful cars.

i vote something classy.

I'm a current record holder! Well me and a few hundred other Lotus drivers anyway.
I've actually been part of two record attempts so far, only one was succesful although we did get the record on the first for the most single make in one parade Ferrari and Mazda nicked it before we got the certificate. The last one blasted them out of the water and we all got certs to prove it.

Both attempts were at race tracks, Brands and Snetterton respectivly. I'm not aufé (is that how you spell O-fay?) with the rules and regs but as I understand it you will need to "parade" over a certain distance keeping a distance of less than one car length between you and the car infront.

Tracks are the obvious choice for this I guess. Don't forget that a good turnout will take up an awful lot of space, we managed to fill Snetterton track whilst three abreast!

Dan...
Is this potentially a world record for the largest maserati pile up? LOL
There would have to be open roads for miles and a strict set of controls in place as one stamp on the brakes and you will have everyone stamping and the last cars in the line up will collide by delayed reaction..especially if they cannot pull out to the sides.(or is it easier than it sounds?)

The Lotus record was done on a track in controlled conditions...Don't need an open road.

Yeah the fail safe is that you're doing about 20mph max. A lot has to do with the marshalls, on the last one I did on one corner the was a Marshall telling everyone to slow down and bunch up on the next corner the was another excitedly telling everyone to speed up! On the first one we were two abreast on the third due to there being so many cars it had to be three abreast to all fit on track at once.
There's a briefing before to tell everyone what to and of course you have to sign a disclaimer.
I'm doing this on my phone at the moment, I'll load up a pic or two later when I'm on a real computer.
