I'm in need of some advise...
I am having a new kitchen fitted. The tap is getting fitted on 30mm worktop, which is on top of a 15mm sink.
The tap is a boiling water tap and the two fixing/mounting rods also double as cold water feeds - these are normally solid, but on this tap, they double as water feed pipes.
My builder has pointed out the fixing pipes are too short for the worktop and sink thickness, it needs to be min 3cm, but ideally around 5cm longer.
The end which attaches to the tap (with the rubber ring) looks like a 1/16" NPT - seems this is a very unusual size...
The middle section for the fixing nut is 1/8" BSP - not normal plumbing size...
The end for the water connection looks like a HEP2O
Changing the worktop and sink is not an option.
Any advice on how to lengthen this? The manufacturer has told me they can't help and doesn't know the specs.
I was thinking of cutting the 1/8" section about 2cm from the top of the threads, then buy an extension (from china) and a female/female coupler - this does not seem ideal though. I cannot imagine there is anywhere which could make one for a decent price.
