Today I went to watch BSB at Oulton Park. After waiting for just under 2 hours to get out of the circuit we headed off home. At a crossroads we came up behind a new black Porsche 911 something or other with twin centre tailpipes. He turned left and we followed him. He then floored it hard, and so did we, up to about 100 and he pulled out about 10-12 car lengths. I was very impressed as 3 of us were in my 330D. He then eased off and as we closed (due to the fact he stopped accelerating before we did) he slammed all on and did an emergency stop to about 30 as other traffic was approaching. This left me the following options; stop faster than him (as he started braking first), swerve and hit the other traffic head on or run into the back of him. Luckily the new, carefully run in discs and greengrippers did the trick. He then proceeded along at 40 in a national speed limit. Not wanting to be behind such a tw4t, I indicated and overtook him. As I did so he took both hands off the wheel and clapped. As we approached the next 40 limit I slowed to 40 and he came past at about 60, and then braked hard again. At this point I lost my sense of humour and passed him as I preferred to be in front of him rather than behind facing the prospect of another brake test. Thankfully, he then turned off and disappeared.
The question is; What sort of a person would risk killing/injuring someone else just because his Beetle wasn't as fast as he thought it should be?
Let's be careful out there!
