how you getting on with your purchase and that lovely spacious barn, is it still going ahead
Should have been in there in March but lockdown halted that.
House is 30 kilometres from here and not classed as essential but fingers crossed after 11th.

Like Phil said, property is cheap as chips (relatively) in rural Provence vs UK. This is our place and holiday gites x 3 sleeping 20. All this plus garaging galore for under €1.5M in 2004. Have spent a bit on it since fitting it out but no income this year as all bookings this summer have had to be cancelled due to Covid 19. Oh well............

PS. this shot is on our website, but I took it from a microlight flown by a mate of mine. That was a trip to remember!

lovely pad and grounds, rather you than me in the micro light, had a copter ride a couple of years ago and just felt uneasy, I think it's the fact that if engine fails the thing will just plummet like a lead balloon, I suppose microlight will glide down if engine fails, wife likes watching "escape to the chateau"

As long as the gearbox on the helicopter has not gone they can also glide down to earth via autorotation... and its a hoot to practice it.

didn't know that, just seen a couple on youtube and looks blooming scary to me, must be quite a tricky manoeuvre, you have a copter?

Have a friend who used to be an instructor and described this to me once. Think I will pass!

I had a PPL for fixed wing complex twin engine and was working towards my rotary... untill I had to stop as a result of a health issue.

Do you think the Roller fits in the garage?
I think it might be a bit tight, so that place is out then!
Looks like a Ken and Barbie house in Essex...yuck.

Would rather have the Mews property.
I love period properties too but that's not my point. London prices are too stupid for words, and that mews price is ridiculous imho. If I had a few squillion I'd be looking out in the sticks for a decent place that could accommodate a few cars and the man cave, perhaps with an overseas bolthole as well.

You are right. Trouble is so much over a certain price within the circle line of thereabouts is no longer bought by UK sourced cash. London was viewed as the safe haven post 2008/10 for the worldwide elite to park their cash so more and more London workers cannot afford to live in the city and face longer commutes.

...although the glide angle is, perhaps, slightly steeper than you might like :D

Agree 100%!............I recall seeing a documentary a few years back regarding Central London's house prices. A London couple/family sold their 'Right to Buy' ex Council house and with the money bought a small castle in Scotland!!.....WTF!!
