Has anyone been tempted to splurge their filthy lucre over one of these, and if you have, what do you think? It's the camera that tempts me, but if you look at the depreciation on any kind of iPhone it makes McLarens look like a wise investment.

I looked. Saw the price and decided to get an iPhone XR which was free with my talk plan.
So I got a 128gb one for 50 quid a month with all the usual gubbins.
I think the camera is just as good. Definitely a step up from my iPhone 8. or was it a 7? dunno, they all look the same.

I have one, camera is good, not worth the upgrade from what I had previously though .. an iPhone X.
I’m just a sucker when they offered to extend my deal same price new phone no upfront etc.

Yes, same problem. I have an X which is great, but for the same money I can get a SIM only deal and an 11 Pro thingy off Apple on the iPhone Update Programme for £60 or so a month with a free inclusive update to the latest one in 12 months. As an added temptation, AppleCare+ is included. If you do the maths, it's the cheapest way to buy one. Other than not buying one at all.

I upgraded to an 11 pro, 256gb. I'm coming from an 8 so it was a substantial and noticeable improvement, but I've also heard it's not a leap over the X

Looked, saw the price and thought bu99er that I will stick with my XS - wife is confused as I always find away of justifying the next Apple device

I have a 7 and keep on looking now that it's finally dying. I still find them all too big though unless I have my Louis Vuitton manbag with me. Which I don't. Ever.

They want £1049 for an 11pro, the smaller version which is a lot of dough for a phone. I'd actually probably be very happy with a 10 and would buy a new one of those if I could find one from a reputable source, not Ebay. They are clever those Apple guys, they could have kept the 10 out there for £700 or so but then folk like me would choose them!

I had an XR briefly but found it was bigger than an ipad and so I gave it to my mum.

Keeping such a large phone in the pocket of my hipster skinny jeans detracts from the other contents of my jeans.

If I want to carry an iPad I will. I'd be happy with a tiny phone to make phone calls.....

I have the 10 and Jeanette went for the 11 on the launch date, the main difference in fact the only real difference is the cameras. They do some pretty smart stuff on the 11, that fancy portrait is better, night photography is possible but not really great yet, depth of field and wide angle are massively better as is Tele-focus given the multiple lenses. None of this is of interest for my daily work where all I need is 640 x 480 pixels to prove I was there. for the last 8 years or so I have had to employ Pixiser to resize all my images.

The Pro is the little one. The Pro Max is the big iPad sized jobby.

Homme de chat - you're right, of course, but a decent camera phone that fits in your pocket is easier than a big one that doesn't.

Went from my 4 year old trusty 6 plus to a XS Max last year at an eyewatering grand plus VAT.

I will keep it another 4 years then decide.

Its just not financially viable to keep upgrading, not even 5G so I understand?

You need one of those used by prisoners. That way you don't have to worry if you don't have any pockets! Just slip it up an off you go....

Call me a neanderthal Northern monkey but I prefer Android. I had an Apple for work and found it completely unintuitive, why do you have to go through lots of menus just to put call forwarding on.

Who the **** uses call forwarding these days?
But anyway, the answer is simple: 'You don't' :)

Ooh great codes... Now Where's that in the manual? Anyway I do, saves having to carry two phones when I'm on shift.
