Just renewed with Elephant £1150, down fifty pounds on last year but that was with alot of haggling.

Still a long way cheaper than anyone else that i found.

Assuming your young and not got much of a NCB?!...sounds pricey....

i think ive come out of the young bracket by now im 29 and 9 years noclaims, no points.

I think it has heavily to do with my postcode, for the last few years Bolton has been a hot bed for insurance claims!!

Interested Grandpappy Urby how much without the tracker fitted or subscribed to , last time i checked they loaded the policy by just £30 , so wasn't worth paying the £200 subscription

I found Admiral were only competitive if you paid up front for the entire year, when I wanted to pay by DD for 3 cars they added £600 to the price.... I ended up getting differnt companies for all my cars, pain in the butt!! i was with A-Plan for two of my cars but found every year the price went up, every year I called them to tell them I could get it cheaper elsewhere, then they adjusted their price. I got fed up with it, if they can't be bothered to search for a cheaper price I will do it myself.

Absolutely! if they can't be bothered to do the legwork, then we have to vote with our feet and go else-where...

Well, to make you all feel better and fuzzy inside, with Admiral Multi car I pay £3990 per year....

That is however for 5 cars and with a Girlfriend under 30 - although having her on the policy actually brings the price down from what it is for me on my own.
The Maserati bit is around £1100 of the premium.

How about putting it on a classic car policy, try giving Pete Best Insurance a call. I have this on my classic car with an agreed value. It will be subject to limited milaege, but think you can have 10k pa, which I assume you can keep to.

Hi Matt

It was on a classic policy but all the major players have moved the goal posts so anything post 2000 is NO GO for them.

I have just had a call back from them. They can do it! even they were surprised!

Just a couple more leads to follow up but they are very good on price.

It's Hagerty for me - agreed value - good price for an old git. All other cars with different Insurers to spread the risk and to fit the type of vehicle.

Not sure what A Plan are up to! Last month they quoted me £650 for my new 4200cc. Went back yesterday for a quote now I have a car ( with tracker fitted not on last quote) and they rang around for a hour and came back with £1100 !
I went on confused.com and ended up apying £538 with performance direct extact same terms as A plan.
No accidents/no points 44 years old, maybe they heard I was form thsi forum!

Just a thought , when you rang Aplan back you did get there specialist dept, ive rung before and the high street Aplan stores seem to know nothing about there specualist dept , surprised because Aplan usually come in between £550 and £750 unless you have an unusually bad postcode and you leave it parked on the road

Conaero.......guys...can we "template" the information given about insurance to make comparisons a tad more relevant?

Such as......

Car type -

Age of car/value -

Driver age(group)/area -

NCB level -

Excess level -

Points total -

Premium paid -

Or some such, leave all or some of above in/change or add to?

That is a brilliant price, time to change next year me thinks. The excess is on the high side but worth it.
