I re-did the interior getting rid of the tech-cloth

When the headlining in the GS had finished sagging completely I cracked the ***** and decided to rip out all of it. The originally silver tech-cloth had over time become a stained, useless, pinky colour and it was quite frankly embarrassing.

Luckily for me one of the apprentice electricians in our workshop once owned an upholstery shop and has in his spare time been doing the interiors of various show cars. I ordered a roll of a dark grey alcantara through him and we began scoping the job ahead.

I ended up replacing every single scrap of the tech cloth and went with a padded diamond stitch pattern on the front and rear seat inserts. I even got the trident redone on the rear centre seat with a twist. On the trident the top bar is green, the middle white, and the bottom red, a bit of an homage to the cars country of origin.

I'm very happy with the way it all turned out, if a bit grumpy at how long it took him to do it. But i can't argue with the price.

Very nice, I actually like the tech cloth, when in good condition, it can make a nice contrast, and in hot climates can be a bonus.

That looks the business. I think I'd have a lighter colour though for a contrast like Allan said.

Lovely job. And the doors and dash are how the MCV versions are, so it does actually have some Maserati originality to it as well. In fact, if you had the seats in alcantara but with vertical stripes, it would very much MCV spec.

All told it took 3 months of evenings and weekends with a break in the middle when he went on holidays. I've been told to not reveal how much he charged me, but I figure that's just for locals. Including the fabric it cost AUD$3400

Well worth it.
Really personalised and a lovely place to be now I bet!
