Your contributions were outstanding. I am new to this forum, but I am seeing valuable things here. That's cool. Let's see how my journey goes.

Just filled in their online quote form.
When I did this in the past, somebody phoned, repeated the same questions I answered on the online form, said he'd come back with a few quotes within hours. And I never heard from him again.

I'm expecting the same this time because the website doesn't generate a quote - unlike Locktons or any comparison site.

I'm not expecting AIB to be better. A leopard doesn't change its spots.

Let's see how much of my time they waste with ridiculous prices and conditions being imposed - garaged, tracker fitted, must be laid up with square tyres so nobody can drive it.

Same cr4p answer as before sent by email:

i will never be in a position to give Locktons a review...........why i hear you ask............

mention daily car and over 5k a year and they say NOPE, not a cats chance in ****

obviously Locktons cater to the Sunday drivers in the world and i quote, " a person who drives under 5K a year tends to be a better and more considerate driver"
obviously the **** has never driven on a weekend and im confronted by seriously wowful drivers

of course that is only my opinion of Sunday Drivers :1408:

Actually, I left Locktons last year (after 2 yrs with them) due to (a) massive hikes in premium, (b) stubborn refusal to consider lowering the premium by stripping out breakdown cover (which I have as a personal policy for all 4 cars with a third-party provider) and (c) to prevent losing accrued NCD of many years with a previous classic car insurer and Locktons policies for classics does not accrue NCD.

I would have lost 10 years NCD on the Porsche of I stayed more than 2 years with Locktons. Some insurers MAY consider claim free years as an introductory discount, but it is not NCD and is discretionary.

The downside of my current insurer is a policy that is based on market valuation in the event of a total loss and restrictions on where the Porsche or Gransport can be repaired (no porsche- approved bodyshop for example).

This current insurer underwrites the policy, unlike many where the underwriters are based in tax havens such as Gibraltar and very quick to decide a total loss.
