Hi all

Better introduce myself...

I'm a 43 year old car enthusiast currently living in Surrey. Have had lots of fun cars over the years, including Capri 2.8i, Escort RS1600i, ferrari 308gt4, Porsche 911 carrera (sorry) and Westfield SEi. I also used to have a 3200GT which superceded an Alfa Romeo GTV V6 - I'm a GTVV6.com refugee!

I came over here after having seen a post by Conaero on Pistonheads.

I'm currently driving a Fiat 500, one of the first in the country, but a bit of a change in performance for me ( my last car which succeeded the 3200GT was a 147GTA)...

Anyway, currently looking for a change of car, and retain much love for Maseratis, especially my sorely missed 3200GT (manual Black with carbon trim by the way). Not sure yet whether to keep the Fiat and go for a weekend toy (Ghibli maybe?) or replace the Fiat with something like an Alfa GT...

I'm a (very) soon to be published Automotive author - my first book about the Alfa Romeo GTV and Spider (916 series naturally) will be published by Crowood press in September!

Looking forward to joining the chat!

All the best
Robert

Robert, I remember you to from SportsAlfa/GTVV6

Did you hear that Keith, the forum owner suddenly passed away last year at 42 I beleive.

The GTVV6 database is lost which is such a shame.

Remember some of the old guys, AlfaSod I see you have met, Ant, Fabio (tit) and Rich.

What can I say about a car, your on a Maser forum so that's what your going to get pushed towards.

I had GTV TS/3.2V6, then 3200 then GranSport now have a JTD Alfa GT and a GranTuismo S.

The GT is awsome even with a JTD. Out of all of them I would recommend the GranSport, it's the most rounded car of the lot, but if you can't stretch to one, how about a 3.2 Alfa GT?

Let us know how you get on and send us a link to your book, I would love a copy, signed by the author if poss?

This forum is in the same vein as GTVV6, light hearted, humorous and a great archive of knowledge.

Hi Robert and a big welcome to the forum...lots of Alfa fans on here....Just sold my Alfa GTV V6 a month or so ago......Lovely car and lovely sound....Lots go from Alfa to Maserati as it seems the natural thing to do......Like you I had a 3200 and have never really got it out of my system....

Many thanks for the welcome guys - good to see a few familiar names!

I'll put some info about the book on the Alfa section later on. For the sportsalfa guys who recall him, I did track down Davor and a couple of pics of his car are in the book. I've got a contact email for him so will point him at the forum here in case he wants to say hello!

Hi Robert - welcome to the forum. I'm also an ex-Sportsalfa/gtttv6 forum member... was nig-gtv at the time! Was it you that was running a GTV to impressively high annual mileage?

Thats right, I sold mine at I think 160,000-ish miles (it was about 6 years old at the time if I remember right) and I know the next owner took it to 176,000 miles before I lost touch with him. Great car!

Hi Robert, welcome to the forum and congratulations on the prospect of getting your book published. So is a Ghibli a serious prospect then?

Not sure yet whether a Ghibli is realistic or not, but I've always liked them and I've had a 3200GT already so...

Let us know how things go with the search Robert. Would certainly be nice to have another Ghibli on the forum.

Robert, welcome from Robert, you won't go wrong on here, best of luck with your search. I'm sure I saw a Ghibli on either eBay, or Autotrader recently.
