Hi all,
Thought I best post a message in the 'Newbies' section seen as I've just registered.
Although I'm new to the forum, I've been a follower of the marque for several years now - ever since I saw the leaked sketches of the GranTurismo back in 2005/6. As soon as I saw those seductive lines I wanted to find out more about Maserati and the GranTurismo. Scouring the internet and looking in car mag's for any info on my dream car. I was even lucky enough to see a pre-production (LHD) version at Graypaul Nottingham back in 2007. I was there for ages and took loads of photos, trying to capture it from every angle. From then on I was determined to buy one...
Roll on 3 years to 2010 and I fulfilled that ambition, and bought a pre-owned, 2008 reg. 4.2 litre (base) GT. It was in the classic combo of Nero Carbonio and Avorio leather interior. The 20" Birdcage alloys and red brake calipers, helped complete the look.
However, after swearing blind I wouldn't get rid of the Maser, just a few years later sadly I sold it ...
BUT fear not fellow Maser lovers, as I stayed with our beloved Trident marque, and am now an owner of a stunning GranCabrio MC
The base GT gave me a real special feeling every time I looked at it or sat in it, but the MC is something else. I feel so privileged to be able to have one of the very few GranCabrio MCs in the UK (less than 20 atm!).
And what a time for all of us Maser owners - 2014 - Maserati's Centenary year So it should be a great year for us all.
I am a member of the SCD club, so I may have met some of you already. But it is always good to meet new people, especially as you all obviously have such a great taste in cars
Thanks for managing to get to the end of all my rambles. Hopefully get to meet you all soon.
Cheers,
T
