Now that Belfast Brakes has gone, do we know anyone who can reline shoes, preferably someone in the South of England?

Cheers Benny but I dont want to worry Marios with such trivial things, he is a busy man. Do you know who did them?

Hi Matt,

I can't advise regarding re-lining but I can tell you that Emblem have just replaced the handbrake shoes on my Quattroporte. In this instance I went for pattern parts via Eurospspares. I don't know how this cost compares with re-lining.

Maserati prices for 2006 QP Handbrake shoe £47.96 + Vat each (4 required)

Handbrake shoe set (pattern part via Eurospares) - £88 + Vat (set of 4)

Regards,

Paul

Hi

I had mine relined at Custom Brake in Sheffield, they made a good job but I did spend a bit of time filing the shoes so they fitted perfectly inside the drum to ensure good readings for the MOT.

Just spoken to Trevor, yes, they are still going and happy to do forum members shoes for £35 a pop, vat and return postage inc. Just quote SportsMaserati.com

Not all 3200/4200/GS are the same, there are 2 different widths, so best is to post yours to them on the Monday and get them back on the Friday for refitting. You can put the hubs and wheels back on but DO NOT drive the car as you may jam the wheel up with the loose parts.

Mine will be going off to them shortly.

Indeed MAF plus the glue they use to adhere the new linings to the shoe is the same as is used to stick ships together, so less likely to fall off as the OEM one's do.

Maybe, but it still sticks ships together! Anyway, I am pretty sure the factory used Airfix adhesive on the originals.
