We should have had this chat first thing, I'd have bunked off and we could have gone out to play in the sunshine! I think it's important for the Maserait community at large that this kind of research is done properly - whens the next meet??

The next planned meet it the 2nd Thursday in March, but Dem was wanting to do one in Feb, so again the 2nd Thursday at Ace.

Feb might still be a bit cold, but I am up for it if you are.

So question..How much does the weight of the driver make a difference to the performance..?...

Don't think it makes alot to be honest. I weight 14 stone and recon Dan is circa 12 and a half.

Dan is never 12 and a half..........more like 11.........and a very low BMI reading for a man of his age.....;)

Well I'm 19 on a bad day! I reckon we can even out most of the weight difference with our petrol tanks - I read that 1 litre of petrol weighs about 700 grams, so you'll need about 22 litres more in your tank for a fair fight :)

Doesn't look like I can do 9th Feb (annoying)... I'll keep you posted on any southerly movements I might be making over the next few weeks - you coming lundun way at all?

wish i hadn`t watched those videos with the spyder up for sale! **** its a hard car to actually let go.... Such a joy to drive and admired by everyone who sees it to boot! ..No negative vibes ever just very respectful admirers and a real pleasure to drive slow and outright hilarious to drive fast!

During a short drive in Germany I manage to run my GS up against a friends M3 DCT, from 60 to the other side of 130 I can confirm that the M3 pulled a cars length and this I would put down each gear change we managed to repeat this a few times. Considering the original autocar test had a Gransport reach 130 in just under 20sec and the M3 about 2 seconds quicker according to EVO, I am pretty happy that the DMS upgrade has done its work. I am having the decat and X pipe fitted this month and have another short holiday with said friend and car so I will keep you posted as to the result.
