Thanks Catman

Just bought those wipers. For £5.79 they must be worth a punt!

Was exactly my thought. I'd given up buying cheap blades since they never worked. These were recommended. I've had them on my 4200 and Mrs Catman's 147 for 9 months and they are still going strong as daily driver.

Hi Outrun,

The book pressures for the car are 2.4 bar (35 psi) at the back and 2.2 (32 psi) bar at the front based on cold OE PZero tyres.

I'm currently running Pzero's at the front and Falkens at the back and these pressures are fine. Playing about with them is worth doing however. Increasing the front pressure just a couple of points noticeably lightens the steering, but at the risk of the car breaking front traction more easily. Conversely dropping them all round to about 30 psi at the back and 28 at the front is much better for spirited driving and that little extra flex in the stiff sidewalls makes the car very grippy, but also just a little more 'sloppy' feeling, which you do get used to.

From reading other forums regarding the Vred's they seem to divide opinion. Some rave and some hate with not a lot in the middle, but there is a consensus that the tyre pressures they advise are far too high (based on maximum load) to the extent where some have reported loosing traction all round. Something to be wary of.

My advice, for what it's worth, would be to start with the book pressures and play around until you get then to your liking. I wouldn't advise going too low though, as the standard geometry on the car combined with low pressure, will lead to rapid inner edge wear. The 30 / 28 psi combination I mention above is good for a bit of fun, but a little bit too low over the longer term, but this does depend on the make of tyre, and in that regard I have found the PZero's to be cr@p.

Hope this helps.

I too am running Pzero on the front and Falkens on the back and have great grip.

Running 2.1bar pressure all round as its a Spyder and the lower pressure helps with the scuttle.

Yeh, i've run them on several cars before and rate them highly. The only tyres i've found to be better are Michelin Pilot Sport 2 and 3 but they are considerably more expensive.

Where are you in NI Peter? The wife is from Carrick and we are frequently taking the short ferry ride to visit her lot.

Eurospares called earlier to say that they'd found me some gloss black wheel centres with chrome tridents. I've lost a trident and the wheels were made gloss black by Loz before me. Couldn't believe the £7 each price so ordered 4. Hopefully the factory gloss black is close enough to my finish as of course, there are actually 100s of black shades!

I'm liking Eurospares to deal with, they seem really easy.
