Dan Balboni, Brennan and I are having our cars paint corrected which is a 3 day process for £300. It's down in Bosham, Chichester so if anyone else is interested please PM me.

Dan and I are booked in for the week starting 23rd April so anyone else would follow on afterwards.

shame it was too far for you to pop up to MK - do you know what wax or nano sealant is being applied

You should try Matt at Shiltech, I think he is close to you, he did Miles's MC GS, only heard good things.

I am having the dents done too so there goes another £100.

I have to stip out the rear seats and parcel shelf to remove the rear quarter panels so he can gain access.

Watch out from my first GT how to guide!

£300 seems a little cheap to me! I took my A6 (dark blue) to a chap in Dunsfold (aka Top Gear-land) and he was talking about £2k! His rates are very high, and it was 4-5 days full time because of the number of swirls and extreme toughness of Audi paint (which I've heard a few times). I then took it to a local chap (New Malden, Surrey) who quoted £400 for a 2 day job. So I went for that option and in the end he spent 4 days on it and didn't charge me extra, and did a great job. I suspect for the next dark blue Audi he'll quote somewhat more!

If anyone wants a recommendation I'll look out his details. That was for a full paint-correction detail - I'll be getting him to do both cars a "top-up detail" before the Summer comes along I'm sure.

Cheers,
Ben.

Agreed, £300 for 3 days does seem much too cheap. Detailers usually charge upwards of £300 a day, and its back breaking hard physical graft !

I was just offering my services ;) as this is what I do...

yep this is mainly due to overheads (rental for the unit / staff if they have any and backup funds for when not working) and of course the level of products used (which makes a difference), example I have no overheads - mainly for chairy and don't charge this however use Zymol, Swissvax and other products, however if I was charging more would you then think any better of the services offered ??? (trying not to break any forum rules here...)

interesting point you make about cost and you could be right - I know a software guy who was charging about £750 for his software, and not making much sales. He then was told by one of the big companies to raise the cost, now has sold alot more versions (same software) but now for £3,000 each

Guys, the whole point of doing a group buy is to achieve a high discount. We are putting 4 cars into him so achieve this discount his usual price for this is £450 for 2-3 day paint correction only. Its not the full detail where he crawls round on his hands and knees with a toothbrush, but he will do that for an additional £100, which covers the interior, engine and bay, wheels both sides, suspension and arches, etc....

So, £300 it is, and yes it is cheap, and yes I have used him before on my 3200 and the results were amazing, no swirls and the paint looked a foot deep.

That's a good price Matt. Are you all going to him or is he coming to you?

I've only used Matt at D2, so have no points of reference as to price, but if you've used him before and have been happy with the process and outcome, then the price for 4 cars within the one booking seems reasonable.

I'll look forward to seeing the results! :D

Hi folks,

I currently have Matt's GT in for a Paint Correction Detail as mentioned in the thread.

I will be taking plenty of pics and will be doing a write up once the work is carried out, for those that haven't seen my work over on DW (*Hampshire Detailer*) here's a link to a couple of good write ups for you to look at.

Nice Paul

You will see there are a couple of masking tape markers on that pic, they are reference points for putting the badges back on so can you leave them if you can please.

Looking forward to the results.

Cheers Andy. The paint is very good to be honest with only a few chips.

The issue was that in bright sunlight the swirls really notices.

If you waxed it you could mask alot of it, but it's a big car and I just don't have the time or arm stength to keep waxing it.

Black is a pain but the best colour when clean.
