I doubt we will see all these youngsters abstaining from McDonald's any time soon.
What do you mean, living off there parents hand outs?
In my day there were rules of engagement, you just on with it and buttoned your lip!

My 2p, Cattle and Sheep are raised on lands generally unsuitable for horticulural use, the Scottish Highlands, Welsh valleys and the like.
One thing you must also look at is buying vegatables out of season. Consider the air miles of flying friut and veg up from South Africa etc.

There's a lot we can do without sacrificing out diets and life styles. Use soap not shower gel (reducing plastic) Change your light bulbs (most cost effective energy saver) Use your laptop/broadband router USB port to charge small devices rather than a separate charger. Use a water butt to water the garden or wash the car (not Evian). Don't use a lift for one, two or three flights of stairs, depending how fit you feel. Don't use an air conditioner, use shade and ventillate! Put your daily driver dashboard data onto 'consumtption' and you'll start to drive more efficiently trying to better your last score, without losing time on the road.

There's loads more small things you can do and like the recent 5p charge for a plastic bag , that can have a massive impact.

Well said there Martin.
I find when doing my long journeys for work in the Jaguar diesel I'm always trying to better my MPG it's become a bit of a game with a 6 cylinder constantly getting 40 plus MPG.

When you don’t drive your car isn’t it because you’re flying long haul?

Sshh! Although I'd argue that those planes were taking off whether I'm in one or not. Further, it's better to fly somewhere in a tube filled with 300 other people than to drive, even in my fuel-sipper.

Anyway, aviation contributes 2% to global CO2 emissions, cars around 60%. Planes also have a far higher occupancy rate than cars. The icing on the cake is that as my car only has two seats it never travels with less than 50% occupancy, thus making it a tree-hugging hippy-mobile compared to some electric thing with five seats and one driver.
