I am not enamoured by the way she forces her singled minded attitudes in a slightly condescending way down at people. However that is what some less than sharp/ignorant people on this planet possibly need. Also it is possible she is doing much of this stuff on purpose and sometimes some extensive bad publicity is good and what she is looking for. Is there such as thing as bad publicity in what she is trying to achieve. I doubt it....as much exposure and coverage as possible is better I guess.
I do applaud her efforts and appreciate her endeavours. I think it is lost on many but any person prepared to spend time and money raising awareness/issues has to be a good thing. I have no problem with her at all. Keep going Greta
We can all do more but I think true change can only be realised when large country govts and businesses really make some big changes. Unless we get China, US and others making big changes then other changes are small. Although of course they will make a difference, they won't have too much impact.
When you get the like and scale of some US coffee chains still using largely not unrecycled or unrecyclable cups these the simple changes that can make massive inroads. I just get frustrated when measures are never quick or aggressive enough. If many of us had to do without or reduce somethings we may actually find our lives simpler and better for it.
Currently, around 2.5 billion disposable coffee cups are used every year in the UK, with only 0.25 per cent being recycled. Costa pledged that it will recycle as many disposable cups as it sells by 2020. I wonder how close they are to this target. Good....but is it good enough?
