Just thought I'd share another picture with you all that came into being when I was attempting to visualize how the new wheels complete with lowering would look on the car. I got a bit carried away and started adding bits just for the fun of it, ending up in creating some sort of 3200 GT influenced by the MC Stradale.

A picture of my own car served as basis for this little picture project. Please excuse my far from perfect Photoshop skills.

Personally I quite like the end product, even though I remain highly doubtful I would ever do this to my car even if I had the means to do so, as it would constitute something of a sacrilege in my book.

Had an oil change at Autoropa, who charged me 420 euros :-(

Yeah, that's just about what you'd get charged for labour and material (oil and filter) for an oil change over here when it comes to these cars, even when doing it at an independent workshop.

Cheers for the comments guys, I'm very pleased with the wheels and also very glad that you like them.

Emtee: This car will not become a pimpmobile, I'll promise you that. I aim to have equal amounts of space between the tires and the wheel arches in front, rear and on top.

Good Man :D Sounds exactly right Alecci. You could also look at wheel spacers if you haven't already. The stance is much improved without making it look contrived. I went with 15mm all round on my 4200.

Your photoshop skills are impressive! Would make a great track car, and decals would add to the effect nicely, but too far for a road car. It'd look very strange on the road. Just my opinion though. :D

Welcome Alecci

Great colour. Is there a market for right hand drive 3200's in Sweden ? If so mine is for sale £25k :) I work in logistics so I can also quote to ship it to you. I know Scandanavian countries are expensive for car imports. I know a few Danish guys and they say importing a car is very expensive. Enjoy the car.

Ps: Love the 3200 Gran

Been in Kalmaar , Olland, Visby etc two years ago with the Maser...Loved your country, loved the people..

Hehe, that's kind of ironic as many Swedes do nothing much but curse the government, curse their country and, above all, curse its people. I guess we ought to consider ourselves lucky that foreigners are not as critical of us as we are ourselves.

Looks fantastic Alecci :D

Thanks mate, much appreciated!

I already have wheel spacers, 5 millimeters up front and 18 millimeters at the rear. The wheels are absolutly flush with the fenders, so a somewhat lowered stance is what is primarily needed now I think.

Thanks, but I'm very much the newbie when it comes to Photoshop. As I previously wrote, I quite like the looks of it (even for a road car) but I'd probably never perform the modifications needed even I had the means to do so. The primary reason for this is that I think the design - which in my mind constitutes something of a racing look - would clash to much with the elegant lines of the car and its majestic heritage. Another problem also lies in the fact that to my knowledge no bodykit such as this is in existance, and thus would have to be custom-made.

Below is a new picture I made quickly yesterday evening just adding MC Carbon Line sideskirts, GranTurismo airvents and carbon fibre headlights inserts, door handles, B-pillars and rearview mirrors. It looks more subtle and retains its air of elegance, so maybe that would be a more viable option were I looking to personalize the car further. After all, none of these modifications would be irreversible. I guess the future will tell...

A 3200 Grantourismo..........Dare I saw it doesn't look too bad....

Cheers for that, maybe a model we ought to suggest that Maserati put into production?

Honestly the market for RHD cars in Sweden is quite non-existant where LHD alternatives of the same model exists and price is not considerably lower than for the LHD version.

For example, a RHD Toyota Supra TT could be had for around £10K, while the LHD would set you back about £25K all else being equal.

Older models of the Skyline GTR, however, were never manufactured in LHD versions and hence does not suffer from the same trend regarding prices.

Hi Alecci, I do like the front wing vents, as they bring to mind what Maserati offered with the Classic pack. The MC skirts don't float my boat, but some sort of treatment to the GS skirts could work?

The more I look at your Trident, the more I love the colour. Such a classy colour and it's a perfect balance to the more sporty wheels. Other than minor adjustments, I'd leave it as you have it. You can't gild a lily! :D

Me, my fiancée, a good friend and both my cars went to the EDPS car event at Emmaboda this weekend. Unfortunately I forgot my camera in the car during the entire day, but I managed to snap of this picture of the cars when stopping to stretch our legs during our way home:

Maybe some of you have seen my thread about removing the window trim, which was due to one of them having had some paint peeled off prior to my purchase of the car. Well, I had them wrapped in some carbon fibre vinyl in order to achieve a short time solution. It looks rather nice, but at the same time oddly cheap for this sort of car. While I do like the added carbon fibre touch, I'm still undecided whether to have a pair of trims done the proper way or to have them finished in some kind of black satin matte color.

In the mean time, the poor wheather during my vacation this summer (if you could call it that) and some spare vinyl on my hands had me locked up in my garage - locked from the inside that is - and you can see the results below.

First off, the window trims. Right side...

...and left side.

Those with sharp vision will also notice the carbon fibre door handles. Then I had the lower windshield trim done...

I also had the boot lid handle wrapped, but apparently I forgot to take pictures of that.

In the process of doing these items, I discovered that I had some burl wood imitation lying around since I wrapped a few parts of a friend's Jaguar interior. The wood imitation interior parts of those older, Series III cars are quite prone to cracking. It worked out fine in his car, so I thought I'd give it a try in mine.

First a full view of the interior (well, almost)...

Then for some detail shots. Front ashtray...

...seat adjustment panel...

...and finally the center console, power window buttons and gearshift lever.

I'll throw in another "full view" shot for good measure:

I like the idea of themes when it comes to car styling, and so I wanted to also keep the carbon fibre theme inside the car. I have thus mixed the burl wood with carbon fibre, as can be seen in most of the pictures. There's also a few items done that I forgot to take pictures of, such as rear courtesy light surrounds.

I'd just like to point out that all of this is good quality vinyl wrap, and all these modifications - if they are indeed to be called that - are fully reversible without leaving any trace of vinyl or glue when removing. This was basically done in order to keep myself occupied during many hours of poor weather during vacation, and also because I wanted to see what it would look like.

As with the exterior parts, if the looks grow on me I may consider having it all done the proper way (hydrographics) instead.

So, let me know what you all think.
