There have been mis-diagnoses in the past due to poor training/understanding of what they were looking at, plus I believe the actuator can be refurbed (I think Loz in past has mentioned/knows about this), rather than X thousands to buy a new one.........plus Omar at the risk of offending anyone at an MDs, how frequently do they work on them now, how much experience have said techies got? Having to resort to Maserati Spa to diagnose is a tad worrying for something which has been known about for 12 odd years!

If I were you I'd phone our resident forum indie expert Marios at Autoshield, mention the forum

P

I would second that.
Strange the engine light comes on with the gearbox light though, would expect just the gearbox light.

I'm amazed to be honest. They've had the car for over a month and only identified the problem in the last two days. I may have to chalk this one up to experience as it could be too much trouble (plus more time) to get the car back and start all over again with an indy.

I hope they don't bend you over when it comes to the price. I would have a moan if they do.

True....just the potential for crankshaft end float problems and a scrap engine instead!
(Sorry couldn't resist that one!)
