Front bumper removal, easy way?

Guys,

I removed the frontbumper of my Gransport for stone chip repair/ respray.
It was quite a struggle to get at item number 14, wich links the front bumper to the fenders ( the smal part near the headlights)
I had to delete all mountings of the headlights to be able to lower it enough, getting at the tiny nuts of item number 14.

Is there a better way to do the refitting of item number 14?

If you could somehow make a locator instead of item 14 then the bumper would come off without the need to remove the headlight which is the bit that takes the time.

Short answer is no, you have to adjust it to get a satisfactory alignment, I did anyway!

Only sensible way to do these is with the headlight out and a small ring spanner or 1/4" drive socket. As others have said, need to adjust to get the best alignment, more critical is the numbers and locations of the shims across the front of the bonnet shut, I painted small dots for mine to identify numbers as it was some months mine was off for.

Found this topic,

So, it IS possible to get the headlight out, without having to take off the front bumper!
With the headlights out, mounting item 14, bracket, is no problem anymore.

Only problem i experienced; tried to take the headlight out backwards, but did not manage to do so and presumed that was not possible.
As i read back your comments, i think i did not make that clear enough.
Will try again when i put everything back together.

You have to take the headlight out to get the bumper off. The only way that could be done is with a grinder.
