It only took 1 hour to have a broken down Maserati:)
We had the x pipe installed and now the car refuses to go in gear..paddle shift or buttons 1 or R and doesn't go in to gear.Always stays in neutral, even when you switch off the engine. No warning lights,no errors on the diagnosis nothing.Disconnected the battery for 15 mins and nothing.Lock and unlock the car, tested the battery..still nothing!
The car is an McShift.Does anyone knows someone mobile that can check on the car? It's curently left at the garage in Watford and i'm afraid that nothings gonna change untill tomorrow..will still refuses to go into gear!

Is the F1 pump priming?

Are the doors and bonnet shut?

Are the brake lights coming on?

I haven't check for the brake lights. The pump is making a noise when you lock and unlock the car then you open the door but it only does it once.Doors shut and bonnet hasn't been opened.

With the engine off and ignition on, can you hear the car going into 1st and Rev, not attempting, actually thudding in?

Can I ask the awful question; was there any on the car welding involved in fitting the X-pipe?

Ignition on but engine off, no first or reverse and your pump is priming when you open drivers door after unlocking?

Can you move the car when engine is off, parking brake off and in nuetral ? Maybe if there is space either move it few feet forward or back to see if it moves freely . If not something is jammmed . If it moved , then try to see if it goes into gear when you start the car, first try with engine off , then with engine on

Does it make any difference if you put it in auto or manual mode via the dash button ?

It could be that the car does not have permission to start. Although the gearbox thinks it in neutral the actuator pots could be misleading it. I have seen this before. It could also be the clutch position sensor.

Is it related to an x-pipe change, I would think that highly unlikely unless they were complete hammer monkeys.

I can hear the pump running when the car is unlocked and you open the door. However it doesn't do it the second time if you repeat the process.

We had to push the car out of the garage so nothing is jammed. No difference in auto or manual mode..always stays in neutral

If it's the position sensor then i'm ******! It's a gearbox out job
Got someone from Scuderia Scaglieti coming tomorrow to read the live data. What a nightmare just from an x-pipe job

Ohh forgot to check that one.All i need is to see if the brake light coming on right?

No. It's a double throw switch. One half turns the brake lights on. The other opens to tell the ECU that all is OK. Sort of failsafe. It's cheap and simple to swap and has solved many similar issues. Which is not to say it's the case here.

It's getting out of my hands now so will let the more knowledge people give it a chance.Just checked and the brakes just works fine.Maybe it's the switch and i do hope so to be a cheap fix

What a stupid thing! So the hose pipe that goes to the actuator or gearbox(sorry not really a mechanical guy) was loose. They must have been touch that when fitted the x pipe. All working good now and what a noise!
I urge to anyone to do the x pipe!
