Yes thats right, we have been here for 8 years today.
Would just like to take this opportunity to thank not only the members for their continued support and mainly great behaviour but for all those behind the scenes who put considerable effort all for the good of this little corner of petrol head heaven.
This also give me the opportunity to not only roll out the new moderators but to officially thank those who are outgoing. MAF, Newton and Contigo have been amazing and their enthusiasm that keeps this place fresh and the best global resource for Maserati support.
We are still by far the number one Maserati forum based on posting....as it stands today, a massive near on 600k posts and 6k verified members (not bots or spammers) of which today, half still log in regularly.
Trips and events, well for me this is the most enjoyable part of this forum, not only attending but I do like to plan. We have had some great times, The SM Xmas doo, Ace events, Le Mans and most noticeably our bi annual European event, Viva Espana. Stunning driving with like minded chaps and chapesses, great food, great wine, great times so look out for our Scandinavian Tour in early Autumn 2019.
I am a firm believer that you get from life what you put in. So if you've been lurking for a while, not really getting involved or have thought about attending an event but have not, please, make that your goal for 2018. There is a very strong group off the forum who once again this week have proved yet again what an amazing bunch they are by flocking to aid a member in trouble. Truly an inspiring bunch.
In other news, we have been rebuilding the forum software over the past 6 months, its been tough but we are nearly there. I was hoping to roll it out today but alas there is still work to do.
Can you also continue to support our sponsors. They support us, we support them and where possible use their services over others. Without their financial input we would have to charge for this place, something I have always said I would not do.
This brings me neatly on to the incoming mods. I have already written up about their qualities, Zep, MidLifeCrisis and FCZ360 with Dem staying on for another year as my right hand man.
I am sure you will all join me in a virtual slice of forum birthday cake and to thank the efforts of the outgoing mods, MAF, Newton and Contigo and to welcome in the new breed, Zep, Martin and Frank.
