Lauda bought his way into March.
Lauda had the family insurance company to get him into F1 but he won races and championships. Do you think Ferrari will ever sign Stroll? Perez was in the same car and came second.
I think this is the worst business decisions Laurence Stroll has done. Perez brings money into the team with multiple rich Mexican sponsors, he gets results because he can drive. Now he'll have to pay big bucks for Vettel and this will affect the development budget for the forthcoming seasons.

The family didn’t help Lauda they forbade him from racing at all and he had to get a bank loan.

I wasnt commenting on skill just the money.

F1 isn’t easy Stroll has to be pretty good just to be there.

I think Stroll suffered from a blunder in the strategy department today. From a team unused to being in that position.

me too, based on Perez, Stroll was right when he asked them not to bring him in.

Watching the post race, can no one in F1 come up with a mask that doesn’t constantly slip down?

never did like him and like him even less now, delusions of grandeur

Actual I always thought they had something to do with him when I saw them in the jewellers window.....So.....Probably right for him to try and do it.......Didn't work though.

I hate to say it as I've always regarded LH as a brilliant driver, but it does seem that his ego is getting the better of him these days.

Every sportsman has a logo or a brand. Federer, Jordan, Beckham, Rossi.
Their careers are so short compared to normal people, they need a pension to move on with.

We're all money grabbers anyway, we all want a pay rise and are tax efficient.

Having said that, trying to stop another company with a common name from trading with that name is just bonkers. Quite rightly the EU IPO judged correctly.

I wonder if it was actually Lewis who brought the lawsuit or someone in his business.

There was something similar a couple of months ago and I can’t for the life of me remember who it was but they had no personal knowledge of the court case until it was in the press.

And on top of that, they are trying to grab his image rights. Which are probably tied up in his contract. Never known the Swiss to try and steal anything...

I've lost interest over the last few months, various factors, but Hamiltons stance and attitudes are a contributing factor.

I’ve never gelled with Hamilton which is odd. Being British we should all adore him but most dont.

When I look back at the past British greats, Moss, Hunt, Mansell, Hill(s) and Button etc Lewis draws no parallel with them.

I think he comes across more American in his persona rather than British.

I follow Lando as he drives for Mclaren and follows the gentleman racer I am used too.

And yes I excluded Coultard as I couldn’t stand him either.

I'm not a Hamilton fan for similar reasons Matt. I just cannot endear myself to him. Although I don't really watch F1 much anymore nor Football either.

Just lost interest as it is so far removed from reality it just doesn't interest me. However true racing legends have interested me a great deal. So many greats. Jackie Stewart, Sir Stirling Moss, James Hunt, Ayrton Senna, Jim Clark......I could go on.

Yeh, challenge the company founded in 1892. Poor move. Really it’s about him understanding IP, he can design a logo around his name and trademark it so long as it doesn’t tread on the toes of something already trademarked. That’s what Federer did with his RF logo. He just needs a better advisor.

That seems to be a theme, he’s well known for not having a manager and when it comes to his image, that looks to be unwise.

He’s an incredible talent, it’s not just the car but he’s done a stellar job of believing his own hype and his legacy may well be tainted now. The vegan, tax dodging, BLM protesting, fashion tw%t thing doesn’t sit well with the common man.

Vettel, on the other hand is managing to shake off his previous persona and is now coming across as being funny, likeable and full of class. Today, he’s trending for sending a handwritten reply to a fan’s letter. That’s a cool thing to do.

Kimi is the coolest guy on the grid. What a guy.

Alonso coming back is interesting as he’s a great talent and not the shy and retiring type.

DannyRic is a great personality and adds spice to the grid. He needs a competitive car to shake things up.

For all the talk of Stroll’s dad being the reason he’s there, he continues to show talent and is a decent driver.

For all the talk of Perez maybe losing a seat next year and being someone with talent who doesn’t have the breaks, that’s BS as he has a massive sponsor who comes with him and gives him the same advantage that Stroll has.

Lando is cool and refreshing to have there.

Leclerc is super talented but needs to iron out mistakes.

George Russell is destined for great things when a top drive comes about or Williams work out how to reclaim their place at the sharp end of the grid.

Hulk is loved but the stats don’t lie and he’s never had a podium in 98731893741894 races.

Sainz is fast and should give Leclerc a run for his money.

Gasly is fast and will get a better drive at some point.

Giovanazzi is not too bad and is giving Kimi a good run.

Ocon is being destroyed by DannyRic, especially given the hype from Wolff when he lost his seat.

Oh yeh. Max. He’s super super fast and wild. No doubt he’s a talent but he makes many mistakes and needs to solve that. Hamilton keeps winning because he has the experience to not make mistakes, trust the team and knuckle down and let the race come to him. Max wants to charge to the front on lap 2 and when pressed, makes mistakes.

Bottas is very good but needs to find a Rosberg season or he will be seen as the nearly guy.

Kyvat is average and should be gone.

K-mag and Grosjean are gone. I hope Haas can improve but i think they need a better Ferrari to do that so i expect a slow 2021 until the rule changes of 2022 allow a better crack at things.

Albon is too nice and has ruined his chance. He’s a great over taker and fast occasionally but Max has destroyed him. I don’t think the RedBull policy of having a lead driver is helping but he has to force them to rethink and he’s not doing that. I don’t think we will see him again next year. That seat is going to Perez or maybe Hulk to challenge Max. Max was better with DannyRic beside him and that wont be lost on Christian Horner.

I love F1 but there are so many things they must improve. Old Skool circuits, closer racing, tough tarmac surfaces, everything to make the racing closer and dare I say, more dangerous.

He just needs a better advisor.

needs a good kick up the 4rse to bring him back down to earth imo, rather like the time he thought he was bigger than the the strict dress code for the royal box at wimbledon and got turned away, complete lack of respect for tradition and rules

He just believes his own hype. Everyone he meets each day treats him like a king. There’s no one there to tell him he’s not. Needs a strong woman to bring him down a peg or six.
