I seem to be in the minority here as I like Lewis. Incredible achievement.
Never did me any harm and his behavior is just fine in my book. If he’s a little edgy at times it’s what makes him a winner- he backs it up.
The likes of Schumacher used to deliberately run people off the road -umpteen times ( all forgotten).
Lewis is a level above that and has shown that he’s as worthy a champion as any who have gone before......he’s also proved it more times than anyone else!

why though, he's already worth a fortune and it's just made him look like a complete money grabbing spoilt nob

Didn't realise that the company had been along for so long. Thought they were not that old. So yes you are right he shouldn't have done his.

That aside he is still one of if not the greatest drivers of all time and he is British and that can only be a good thing for British Motorsport and while I get people don't seem to get on with him as a person and look back at the older drivers none of them achieved what Lewis has....That shouldn't be ignored..........Thing is we seem to love to bring down the people that have got to the top in this country and look at what can be found to do that rather than concentrating on the good......
He does a lot for charity and doesn't shout about it. He wants to mentor young talent.......and yes he is very outspoken about his beliefs which like it or not he isn't the first one but when he gets in that car he does what he needs to do and that last race shows exactly why he is the best in the world in his field. I for one want him to go on to break all records and I am pretty sure it will be a very long time before anyone does that again and maybe not in my lifetime.

I know I posted this last year but will again as this was brilliant.

My friends son Finley was a huge Lewis fan. He had been his hero for many years. Finley was a very poorly young man and had been battle with his illness most of his life. His family wrote to Lewis and amazingly he was invited to the factory and had the day of his life. Sadly not long after this Finley passed away.........but his dad said this one act by Lewis and McLaren had made him happier than he could have ever hoped for. This really did choke me up and when ever I see sh1t written about Lewis this is always at the back of my mind as he didn't have to do this.image.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpeg

I like him too, he has always been an awesome talent but over the years his experience has taught him how make the most of what he has and last Sunday was a perfect example, I doubt many others on the grid would have buckled down to keep the car going as fast as it could on the wet track and then wait for the others to make mistakes and turn what looked like a disaster race into an easy win.

His off track escapades are not always well considered but he makes his own choices rather than those of some PR company, like Andy I know about his other side when he turned up at a disabled kids tour of Silverstone one week day as he happened to be in the factory at Brackley and one of the lads mentioned his child was going, no press, no fuss appeared chatted to everyone posed for photos and then went back to work.

The best guy though is Vettel, he has a hatred of hotels so when at Silverstone he parks his camper van on our friends farm track and stays there. One morning our friend Jo was out rounding up some goats that had escaped, Seb heard the noise and next thing he is wandering around the farm with his arms outstretched making goat noises - cool guy and very funny when you get past that public German expression

I don’t get the dislike of Hamilton either, yes I think he dresses like a pratt but then so do most of that age.

Lauda and Stewart’s views on safety were very unpopular in the beginning, Stewart now campaigns for dementia, a problem close to his heart, no one criticises him. If Hamilton wants to campaign against racism which he has experience of why the moaning.

you do make a compelling argument for hamilton and that's a truly wonderful thing he did for Finley and the family, he is a very talented driver but i have never warmed to him and just something about him that doesn't sit right with me and especially when he sacked his own dad in 2010 as manager, where would he be now i wonder if it wasn't for the sacrifices his dad made for him, that's not right in my book

true there may be bs with sun articles, but he did dump his dad ! and he'd be a nobody today without his dad
Have you never fallen out with your dad?

Apparently they are all fine now. And I saw somewhere that he is in the top 5000 list of taxpayers in the UK. Don’t know if that means he’s 4999 or what.

The Ronnie thing above does highlight some issues. The cars are not equal of course. A snooker table is. Many sports have this imbalance and many don't.

If your car is more reliable and finishes more races than others then just that simple fact alone gives you more opportunities to win races. It is far from a level playing field. However that has always been the case in F1 hasn't it?

I don't have any issues with his dedication to his sport or his achievements at all. They are quite amazing. I am just not aligned or in tune with him as a person so he is not my cup of tea, like many on this planet, so he is not alone. I don't lose any sleep and suspect he won't either

Ronnie missed the fact F1 is a team sport. It’s about producing the fastest car. I also doubt he used the £5 cues from down the pub. And let’s be honest it’s not really a sport either.
