IMO, it would have been fairer for it to have ended under the red flag with only 3 laps remaining. Hamilton got greedy and made a mistake, Verstappen didn’t and got penalised because Pirelli make **** tyres.

Power is nothing without control...yeah right tell that to max and Nicholas...

3 lap dashes reminds me of Mallory park and the plum pudding races...

As much as I liked seeing Mr Lewis "Its a marathon not a sprint" Hamilton finish last I am at a loss as to why it didnt just finish under a safety car? They didnt red flag it when Lance crashed

I really do not like this adrenal track. They just need proper run off areas instead of the coloured stripes and tarmac. It is a very confusing track.

IndyCar Road America starts at 5.30pm on Skyf1 if anyone wants to watch some actual exciting single seater racing

F1 has turned into some weird type of endurance racing... IndyCar is still a sprint although they are going hybrid soon too

Is Indy what Grosjean races in…Watched it the other week if it is and was bored senseless all those cars going around and around in a circle.

Yep and guess what he managed all of a couple of months before crashing and setting the car on fire!

Progress…and it feels like they are the third best team in F1. Lando is the future….

Tend to agree, when Riciardo signed for Mclaren everyone said he would show Norris the way, clearly not so, Norris has kicked his ***! The new car argument doesn't wash for Riciardo either, from what Russell managed to achieve last year in the Merc.

That Paul Ricard circuit is pish though, it's just a car park with blue/black lines on it. No walls, kitty litter, armco and so on to speak of so that's allowed all 20 cars to finish as mistakes aren't punished. Give me an old skool circuit like Imola, Spa etc any day of the week.

Yes but you wouldn't have watched Grojean because he only races the circuit and street races

Which race did you watch? The indy500 wasn't the most exciting compared to previous but I enjoyed Castronaves winning

Under half the races on the calendar are ovals

IndyCar is a lot more aggressive than F1... There is still refueling so it is more of a sprint with harder racing that is made possible by using ground effect.

I have hope for F1 in 2022 because they are taking it very much in the direction of IndyCar and perhaps these Saturday sprint races will bring back the balls to the wall all out aggression that F1 has lacked for well over a decade.

Russel in Bahrain last year is one example

What avout Vettel and Sainz this season, it has taken them several races to get up to speed

Then there is Alonso who was out of F1 and has struggled with getting reacquainted with the sports finicky tyres.

On the Lando topic I rate him over Verstappen - put them in the same team and see who is top dog

I always thought he wasn’t right for the team. Such a shame Carlos went as the relationship with Lando was like no other I have seen it F1.
