Well moving on from the big clubs there are others you know and my little old Southampton started with a win.

Not being big headed but I do think we will be the surprise package this season.

We have money, a great manager and a very good structure including our academy. We have purchased only 3 quality players this close season and I think that shows that the owners feel the core of the squad is good enough. The team is also very young with an average age in the low 20's plus our stars such as Shaw and Gaston, Rickie and Lalana have not left.

Pablo Osvaldo £15m from Roma - Italian national squad striker
Dejan Louvren £8.5m from Lyon - Croatian national squad central defender

Started off with a 0:1 win away to the Baggies, and you guessed it, that man Lambert scored again, what a week.

Time will tell but am feeling confident which is an unusual feeling for a Saints supporter.
