Having seen and sat in both Levantes at Geneva yesterday, I remain very impressed with the looks and feel of the car in the flesh. Judging by early road reviews, Maserati looks to have produced a truly competitive luxury SUV. I will certainly consider one, particularly if the petrol version arrives in the UK 12 months after launch - as was the rumour at Geneva.

I like it too and the pricing is keen. Hope you are right about the petrol.

Very good review in this months EVO......So if you find it an attractive car and want a diesel 4x4 this looks a good bet.......Still not taken by it myself......

See you mentioned it already Pete.......

Ha ha...true, but they do seem to be the only company building any 'new' cars these days.

The car will be featured on next weeks Auto Mondial on Motors TV on Tuesday at 20:30. Pitched against "The better looking, but less blingy, Jag"

Will give that a look....I do like the Jaguar so will be interesting to see what they think about the two....Although the JAg starts at around 36k I believe so I would imagine they will be putting it up against the more powerful F Pace.

You must mean the petrol one then Andy. At least JLR are smart enough to offer one of them, not a mythical promise of one to come.

The show is more of a opportunity for car co's and uses their stock fottage in the main...so I doubt it will be a back to back comparison...more their cometary on the two cars after being given them for a test drive...like a magazine article.

Brochure is now out and looks good. Price list to follow shortly. Maranello have a decent number of deposits now and only a few cars expected in the UK each year. All means that I won't lose my shirt by switching from the Macan.

I'm hoping to go to the UK launch event in London on 26 May. My dealer says UK prices will be available before end April. Decided to wait for the prices before putting down my deposit.

HR Owen called and emailed me. I placed an Alfieri order with them and tried to buy a Ghibli from them as well.

Nothing from maranello at all on launch so far.

Do you really need to be a room full of IT consultants all pretending they will buy one when the bonus comes in as they drop canapés all over the seats? Surely go the day after - or before - for a good look?

Epically cynical BigBob. I love it.

I haven't heard anything from Maserati UK or the dealers in my life. And I've bought two cars from them. I guess it depends how slick the dealership is, or perhaps i'm on some kind of blacklist.

I'll wait for a year anyway until the wife's Volvo lease expires and see what I can lease one for at that time. It will be a nice school run machine.
