Well guys after waiting what seemed like a million years, I finally own a Maserati 4200. At the age of 17 that's quite an achievement. Even though I can't drive it yet. It will be waiting for me when the time comes! :)

What insurance quotes have you been getting

I see Dr Evil standing with his crooked finger

Third Party only, that will be a --------------- "million pounds"

Not even worth trying yet, saved every penny I was given ever since I seen my first one.. Had a little help from the parents but I have one at last!

Well, that is amazing if you can pull it off.

I hope you don't mind but I have to put on my sensible hat now.

These cars are incredibly easy to drive and fast and safe but with your inexperience you have to tread very, very carefully or you will become a statistic.

I cant for the life of me see any insurance company coming within a country mile of you if i am honest but good luck and drive safe if you pull it off.

Have to agree with Matt on this and do hope you heed his advice. Do take it very easy Kyle. Not sure if yours is fitted with MSP but if it is LEAVE IT ON.

Well done. You'll just have to find some private land you can use, and take it slow and steady. The only thing I can see is that you will have had nothing to compare it to.

Wow; the crown for youngest owner passes to you from Beau. Well done indeed, just take it easy as they are forgiving but also very able to bite!!!

After following you on FB and speaking to you it is very pleasing to know you got one although you ignored everything I said and got a 4200 :D

Well done mate and I will reiterate what others have said, take it very easy, learn the limits of the car on private land and respect it as these cars will bite you if you get it wrong. Watch the David Cicero video posted yesterday for some of the Nuances of the coupe and learn them all. Good luck getting it insured especially in Northern Ireland!!!!!

Well done that man (well nearly) all the advice above needs to be heeded the 4200 is a great car but with with performance at its heart it needs to be treated with respect.

Top Man , beats my Escort MK2 1300 any day !

From what I read I think you have a wise head on your shoulders , but as stated previously please make sure you get to know and fully understand what you are dealing with and post some pictures as soon as you can.

thought I was young when I bought mine at 27, well done my man (boy)!

please do take it easy, experienced drivers have had a few moments in them so itll take a long time to get used to it especially going from a Micra (learners car?!) to a Maserati.

I would be interested to see how you do get insurance, as at 22, with 5 years no claims, I still had major issues, tried all sorts, inc going on trade policy's.

At 25 it still isn't an easy task, trying to sort out my insurance now

At least it will something lovely to look at & to bring the girls back home to see until you can drive it. I don't think you'll have too many rivals in the car stakes amongst your mates

I thought i was young getting mine at 25! Lots of good comments here. Insurance WILL be a problem. It still is for me although adrian flux have got me great deals.

Well worth driving other cars to gain experience. I went from <1 litre, 1.2, 2.4 etc all the way to the 4.2 v8. It helps you understan car limits... enjoy it and good luck!

I do have a bit of land I can drive the car up and down, it is polished everyday. As for the insurance. I will wait until I'm a bit older and then try. In the meantime, my MK2 Seat leon will do just fine :)
