Not me Dicky.

License just clean again after several years. Touches wood...

Not sure how anyone could get up to that speed on the A47. Must have been the middle of the night. Normally struggle to get up to the limit on that one.

Their problem was getting caught!

(touches wood, pats Buddha's belly, salutes a magpie whilst chucking a handful of salt over shoulder)

Feeble. I see that they are still peddling the same old "speed cameras save lives" cr4p. If cameras were really there to slow traffic down at accident black spots and save lives, why did they ban radar detectors which give drivers advanced warning of the cameras, and therefore the dangerous road situations they were approaching? They are, and always were, revenue generators and I just wish they wouldn't insult our intelligence by insisting on anything different. Utter bollox.

I see that the record for the A31 (that I can hear from my garden) is 137mph.
Pah! What a pu$$y. I'd regularly hit 70+ down that stretch.

He should get points deducted for not trying hard enough :D

Brave man to admit that Dan, especially with your number plate visible on your avatar...or are you just copper batting?

I must agree that I thought the speeds would be higher as myself have "tested the full capabilities" of my GranSport although it was not in this country.

Put it this way, if they had caught me it would not be porridge I would be eating, more baguette and Brie!

I was pulled over just outside Perugia doing 155 mph. The very charming policeman complimented me on my choice of car and said 'if I want to drive that fast then put my headlights on'.................I found his advice very helpful

Thats brilliant BJL....................was that the same police patrol that wrecked their Lambo chase car on a street corner in Milan?

That's good pace Dan. I didn't manage that on the A31 in my 6.0 lt Diablo (which was a proper Lambo)! Maybe I have a tad more respect for Mr Plod.

I remember going to a Gallardo test day at a track in the Midlands (can't now recall which). The Balboni was very impressive - nice choice.

These speeds give me the shivers, especially when they give custodial sentences for them now and again.

When you contrast one of our forum members doing a huge speed in Italy and being told to put his headlights on.......and UK...where its........almost as bad as being Jimmy Saville.....its scary how open to condemnation you are as a ultra high speeder

Given the average level of driver training and skill in this country, coupled with the condition of many of our roads, I'm not in favour of people hammering it too much. Times and places, indeed, but cf the recent TT driver....

Tax Cameras, nothing else..!! We should all be allowed to carry bazukas so if we see one we can put it out of it's misery..!!
