Since our youngest moved out, our bill is down by about £100 each month. He'd drain the bloody water tank every shower.

I think he has shorter showers now he pays his own bills.
I put a low flow shower head on to cut down on the water use, it's still more powerful than a standard shower but doesn't pin you to the cubical like the old one did

FYI - I know its been in the press lately as a good way to save electricity etc, but we've had a Ninja 14in 1 airfrier thingy for just over 2 months now, and I'm really surprised to say that since using using it we've used nearly 1/3rd less electricity the last 2 months.

My wife is a traditional cook, so the electric oven (sometimes two of them) were on everyday without fail for dinner, and probably every other day for lunch/baking etc. We have a gas hob, and a microwave too.
Since getting the ninja, we've only had the oven on maybe once a week, for a roast dinner, or to bake something that won't fit in the ninja.
We've changed very little else, maybe turning the TV off if we leave the room for more than 10 mins or so.
After doing my meter readings the last two months, I can't believe the difference!

Takes a bit of getting used to cooking in that way, but I have to say, if my wife can do it, anyone can!

Yup we’ve got one and rarely use the oven anymore. Great kitchen tool!

We bought a Ninja a year or so ago, at first for chips etc.
However discovered it does a good job on things like bacon, sausage, beef burgers, even frying eggs and defrosted pizza slices! Pretty endless really, so quick.

The large ones, like the 14in1, you can actually cook whole meals in them! not just fried/ fast food. Meat, potatoes, veg etc as it's a preasure cooker, steamer, oven, grill all in one. Pretty clever really.

The missus has been on about getting one for ages. Just the thought of looking through the interweb to find the best one bores me to tears.

I don’t understand, its £250 for a small electric convection oven. You’d have to use it an awful lot to save £250 compared with the slightly larger convection oven that most people already have.

I would normally agree.
However, if my £170 monthly elec bill is reduced by a third, it won't take that long.
One pot and a rack to wash up. No, oven trays, sauspans etc..
Plus, it's actually pretty good at what it does.

Is smaller and has a more efficient heating system.

Still, I find salads save even more. ;)

To be fair it's a small oven, even my second AEG small oven next to the main one has almost twice the space the Ninja thing has, so it will be more efficient than a large one, just like a City car compared to a Range Rover.
