Might have started dreamy eyed 'Now that was an operating system' nostalgia .

Anyone old enough for EMOE (strictly an exec) or George? DME/CME/VME?

Stuffing Punch ed cards to Atlas?
Or a Spoe IBM 1130?

RM380Z, various BASIC (earliest being Commodore PET) and CP/M were about as far back as I go.

Definitely in the top five most baffling threads.

I’m not saying which ones are the other four.

All questions are easy if you know the answer......

I have no idea when you start talking about heat load and so on (yes I know that I was probably totally wrong with that phrase!)

Ah yes, this week has been a blast from the past with that sort of malarkey. With a bit of added DC power.

Built my ZX81 from kit....

Me too. It got very hot when it was running. The frequency of the video output used to drift and I had to keep retuning the TV
Hooked it up to my reel to reel tape recorder to store programs.
Everything seemed to be desperately hard work but it was a computer it did compute things and it was mine.
I was on the team developing and supporting
'Good morning operator Sarah'
All machine code
What I star. I remember being good morninged.
Full respect Mr Montravia.
