So DL has reduced its spares stock and merchandise already... i was hoping for a fire sale, but alas no.

Remaining stock will be on their ebay pages soon.

Is this in the actual showroom or on their website- I can’t see anything and can only find their Bristol branch on eBay...

Spoke to them today and they stated it would be listed soon... but have very little as most spares are ordered as required from Italy.

So - it has the looks, the sound and the smell. And it's not worth a lot. I'd say that's all the reasons you need to keep it! ;)

I like your logic. Mine books at <£25k trade so anything to replace it needs a fair bit more cash.

Are you talking about fossil-fuel slurping cars in particular, Bob, or the GTS in general?

Indeed appropriate extrapolation! I do wonder if sports cars will be socially unacceptable quite soon as witnessed by collapsing sales. The irony is that top line BEVs are very fast so they will suffer the same criticism in due course until we are all driving the sort of cars they will start selling in Curry’s.

Yeah, it does seem that way at times, Bob. Equally, many people enjoy seeing the kind of cars we drive. Well, some do, some don’t notice and a small minority are opposed. Still, I stand by my position that a school-run Mum (or Dad) chucks out more shite annually from their diesel estate than most of us do with our cars.

Let me just invent a statistic: a family holiday to Porta de la Forgettable chucks out more carbon than 10 irresponsible cars like what we’ve got do in a year. Plausible?

In due course people will get carbon credits just like big business does. It's actually a great idea for wealth distribution and reducing inequality as if you don't want/can't afford a holiday to the aforementioned Tui 3.9T resort, a Nissan Juke etc then you can sell your credits to people on car forums ;) .

Seriously though much of the criticism comes from people who have read half the facts on where emissions come from and fail to turn the message on themselves and look at their own carbon consumption.

I was in looking at a new M4 Comp. yesterday and the salesman said I was only the second guy in the last month who had opened the door whereas anything jacked up is all people want. Car companies have either predicted customer trends or manipulated them sufficiently that people either have or want an SUV as their first choice car. The extra 200kg being pulled around, 20g/CO2 extra coming out the back per KM and 10mpg less is quickly forgotten when it comes to getting what you want.

What a Con Carbon Credits are or were.
I got sucked into putting my private pension fund into one of those through a reputable organisation the London and Colonial who have only just stopped chasing me for fees on a fund worthless for several years.
Even the London Police Action Fraud Squad can't sort it out.

If anyone is in the market for a new Maserati there are deals to be had, limited choice though.

Got my letter from DL Swindon today. To be honest, I've only been there once to acquire and have a new key coded. A mighty impressive dealership and was given unrestricted access to the upstairs showroom, which was amazing.

I'll continue to use the independent Italian specialists in Cricklade for my servicing and MoT's, as they've done a superb job on two occasions for me now.

Who are the independent Italian specialists in Cricklade???

Bath Road Vehicle Services, owned and run by Darren, a former Master Tech at DL Swindon and owner of a 4200CC himself.

Their premises are nothing much to look at and they don't have a coffee machine or customer waiting area, but Darren and Tom are nice chaps, know their Maseratis and work hard for the customer. I've used them twice now for servicing/MoTs/upgrades on my 4200CC, after a recommendation from another forum member when I bought the car, and will continue to use them going forwards.

Still debating that. The world has moved on, it is no longer fast so I need to rely on it's looks, sound and smell but it's getting old and tired and is not worth a lot now.
This is the one key point that so many new modern supercars owners seem to be missing these days to their financial loss. All these new modern supercars are too fast for the road. They actually offer less enjoyment at realistic/sensible/legal speeds. Often also with less aural pleasure as well.

Yes the GT is a bit of dinosaur but it still sounds great, looks great and feels great. It is far from slow so I'm not really sure what the issue is. The only thing for me and the same could be said for many other new cars especially SUV's is they are all too bl00dy heavy. Only Gordan Murray seems to be talking sense in this key area.

It is the massive achilles heal to any EV being an answer to or to take over from the ICE.

Why we are not doing more to reduce weight as a really easy way to improve emissions I don't know. If a car weighs half then the emissions savings are dramatic. The answer is not to make the car 500kg heavier because of massive heavy batteries.

It makes it seem even worse when you think there are so many less moving parts and so much weight lost due to no ICE or heavy gearbox. When you look at cars at 2.5 tons it is ridiculous. We should be innovative enough to be making cars at 1.5 tons down to 1 ton. We've gone massively forwards and massively backwards all in the same step.

Enjoying the Vantage, Dean? Sounds that way!
