Its still on the shelf, too scared to use it.

exo is easy compared to C1/CS, take your time and check the area with a light for left over product. if you spot any left over product later it can be cleaned up with your DA

more than happy to pop around when I collect my car (at some point)

I think I did buy Crystal C3 (or was it C1) not EXO. Where are you picking your car up from?

I did use the C2V2 but that's more of a detailing spray.

My kit arrived this afternoon, I've ordered a load of cloths from Costco (Thanks MAf), so I'm ready to have a play and my missus is OK with a few Masers parked on the drive and around, so lets set up a dat subject to good weather.

How about the Saturday 16th July.

As I say I can get 3 cars on the drive and we live in a Cul-de-sac so could park the cars up the close.

Once done if you let me know I could try and get us booked into a rather nice restaurant a few miles away.

this is my routine

Snowfoam on a dry car
jetwash off but not on full as jetwashes push dirt into the paint
Tardis all over
wash (use jetwash in bucket to get a good foam)
Clay bar (be careful and use a couple of warm bars - dont reuse)
Wash
Tape up using 3m blue
DA using low cut - prefer Menzerna or sonos -using hexlogic blue pad
if you still have swirls use medium cut - using hexlogic green pad
(make sure you work it properly and it should look like grease) 2ftsq ft at a time
wipe off using a different cloth per polish
Wash
Gtech sealer
Collonite hard wax using black 3m pad

to dry after wash i use a garden blower and microfibres

Bilberry for the wheels
then polish using a small flap head
gtech wheel wax

This is definitely something I need to learn. The swirling on the Merc is shocking.

Bit scared of going straight onto a car first though. Like the idea of buying panels from a scrappy to practice.

using a DA is really easy, yes nerve racking the first time but honestly think you would need to either use it upright like a grinder or drop it on the car to do any damage. I used poorboys light scratch & swirl remover after the clay mitt to correct the paintwork, came up a treat nice and clean ready for a polish and wax layer. I don't put a sealer on but need to think about that next spring maybe as a finishing stage.

Ye flipping gods, this makes me feel *so* inadequate. I am going to have to get some serious polish kit next year!

Me too.
Need to throw away the T-Cut and Turtle Wax!

Actually get good results with just using Mer or Meguiars (if pushing the boat out), by hand, but do feel the need for a DA!

Yeah, I get reasonable results, too. But
a) It's bloody hard work
b) It's *nothing* like the shine on these!

if you guys want I could arrange another detailing day, I have a test panel and DA, Rotary and Rupes you can try - can also go over wash stages, clay, wax, sealants and nano coatings ect...

of course another option is just drop your car off for a detailing service :)

Yawn ......

Haha. I think I am going to need to pay someone to detail the car.

The thought of spending 3hrs cleaning the car makes me shiver.

Fair play to all of you that are. They all look stunning.

I'm with you, as my father once told a neighbour when they said his car needed washed. Why? It's still blue isn't it!
