Indeed Zag, it’s finally peaked.

Interest rates being the biggest factor as all these big money play cars are bought and sold on finance so now that gap has widened they look less attractive and in term compound used values.

I just wish MC20’s would do the same but they are being Stubborn unfortunately.

There’s a ‘cheap’ 4200 just posted on EBay for £4900 through a dealer in Bristol. The right colour combination and low miles for the year. Looks okay bodywork wise but not indication of history or mechanics or interior pics. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/404630143853?mkevt=1&mkpid=0&emsid=e11021.m43.l3160&mkcid=7&ch=osgood&euid=8ae999f5c0a341bbbb90ab026bca94e6&bu=43131836982&ut=RU&osub=-1~1&crd=20231118045016&segname=11021

I don’t think there would be a worse time to try and sell a Maserati like now.
Back in October Hagerty did an article on the last of the 3 pedal high end cars, Astons, Jags, Maseratis and this was in the comments.
The article is online.

That car has been on AT for many months with the same photos... and it was not here in Bristol.

Just to put some context on how this video came about. It is my car (and ex-Ewan via Dicky) but I had not posted a link to it here as it is not telling this forum anything it doesn't already know about Gransports and the MC-Victory. I am also not sure it has a place in this thread.

The guy who 'does videos on cars' has worked in the UK and global car manufacturing business for many years but indeed had not driven a Maserati before this. I think it is easy for us on here to take for granted what a Maserati is and means and what it is to own and, better yet, drive one. The vast majority, whether they are into cars or not, will never get that opportunity. This situation also, sadly, creates a perception that the cars are unattainable, difficult and expensive to own. When the really bad examples do become attainable they generally are difficult and expensive to own and thus the non-virtuous circle is complete. We here know that when a car is well looked after and with proper and timely maintenance they can be an absolute joy to own with no nasty surprises. Those surprises that come along are no worse than may impact Porsche or Ferrari owners for example. Most others assume the worst case for Maserati to be true as that makes for better on-line content and armchair criticism I guess. I do wish Maserati HQ were not so terrible with supporting their heritage though which does not help.

Back to the video. The gentleman had purchased a Mercedes 190E as a nice day daily and project to work on. Finding very little information available online, as and when he fixed things he took a video and put it out there to help other owners. And got a small following. We met as we have some knowledge of these cars (and 80s/90s Audi and BMW) and were happy to help keep another of these cars on the road. On visiting our workshop inevitably there were cars that there was the opportunity to drive and video. In this case introducing a very usable and attainable Maserati to a wider audience, whilst also pointing out differences to the MC-Victory (since a 4200 and 'normal' Gransport were not available). It was all rather off the cuff and I thought the honesty regarding a first drive and how it felt and how easy it all was quite refreshing and encouraging for potential owners.

That all sounds like a rant, it isn't, just some frustration agreeing with this thread about the perception of Maserati, the inevitable hit to values and what people are missing out on.

The MC-Victory is touted as one of the best, if not the best, Maserati driving car. I agree, @Nayf and @dickygrace and I assume @Ewan and @happydaze agree. Mine is for sale only because I also have a unicorn Stradale in the collection and I prefer to be able to focus on only one car from a given manufacturer. I have priced it at a not in a hurry level but I am also happy to have a realistic sensible discussion with any forum member who fancies owning a very rare thing, recently serviced and inspected by @conaero and a joy and pleasure to own and drive.

Beautiful Car @hashluck and of all the models I drove when working for Maserati the MCV stays in my mind as the perfect one.
There was only one in New Zealand and the owner was a petrolhead and he knew I had a 4200 so he requested that I worked on his car.
Drove it a few times and always memorable.received_1445421809338044.jpeg

Can't be many MCVs on the road in the UK - 10(?) - so it's unusual to find 2 of them on the market simultaneously; the one above and a LHD black on black car at Giallo. I much prefer it in the Blue though ...
