Comfortable driver height in 3200/Coupe?

Hi all,
I'm new here and enjoying learning everything I can. I would really like a 3200 or Coupe (I like the GranSport but I want a manual and won't compromise on this).
I haven't sat in one yet and I know I should!

Is it a car that's comfortable for a taller driver? I'm not that tall (around 6'3" or 189cm) but I've seen the JayEmm review and he suggests that it would be uncomfortable for anyone much taller than him and he's much shorter than me.

I'm just curious as if the answer is that it's a bad idea, I'll drop the idea before I get too invested. If it might work, I'll keep looking out for the right car

Thanks!

I'm 6 foot 2 and not had any problems had two 4200 Coupes and drove quite a few miles too.
Bigger guys than me on the forum.
Good Luck.

Hi and welcome, there is plenty of adjustment available in the seat (tilt, lift, lower, lumber) and steering wheel you can find somewhere to accommodate most shapes in comfort. I'm sure @CatmanV2 will be along shortly to confirm; he's an odd shape like me!

I'm 6'1" and was fine with my 3200 and 4200. As Newton says, the seat adjustments are very accommodating.

What about Mr Macey? He's well over 6ft and his goalkeeping son is 6' 7"! I don't think he has an issue with seating position.
Any rear passenger might need to compromise though.

When I say an odd shape; he is a lanky bugger but well built!

I was about to say! I'm not as odd a shape as you!

6'4" and loved the 4200 although those on the Modena trip that followed me through the tolls were minded to comment that watching me get in and out was akin to some odd form of origami.

It's full Italian ape position, though. Long arms and shorter legs (I have arms like a gibbon, although less hairy), my inside leg is a more normal 34" (*)

Thanks everyone! I'm suitably reassured.

Now I just need to decide on a 3200 or a Coupe. I really want a 3200 but I'm scared of end float and difficulty in finding parts. It's a difficult one!

I’m actually 6ft 3” and driven to Modena on the century trip and subsequently to Germany on the 3200 anniversary event and had no issues with head room - although wouldn’t want be too much taller.
admittedly not much room in the rear for my lanky lad.

Likewise dimensionally!
However I do find the leg support lacking on longer journeys.
Made worse from a motorcycle accident over 30 years ago which requires my right knee to be supported with longer journeys.
Best is either a SUV with a high chair so my knee is fully supported, or the opposite nearly flat like my old Lotus Elise.
So on longer journeys I do find my 4200 can be painful at times.

I'm 6'7" and the main reason I still have the GS is that its about as focused/fast as sports/GT I can get that I can fit in. Its not comfortable per se, but I've done hundreds of miles in a day in it and I can't even get in a Boxster! I took the pedal covers off which gives a few extra mm.

If I have a gripe, it is only a minimal one, it is there is no comfortable place to put my elbow on longer journeys! The door handle is too low for me and the top of the door is just too high, especially if the window is open to enjoy the sounds! This is only ever an issue in full cruise mode...

This is particularly helpful as one of my other cars is a 986 Boxster S and I'm very comfortable in that, so it sounds like a 3200 or Coupe should fit me nicely. Thanks!

Yeah I have a 987.1 S and have no issues driving that either.

I'm only 5'9" and need the seat fully back, but I prefer it raised to almost the top of its reach... accelerator give me cramp so use the cruise where I can

I am 6ft and it's comfortable but it is an early 2000s coupe so it can take a while to find a comfortable seated position even if you do "fit"

No, you're not 6ft!

5ft 111/2" maybe...but we were sat down at the Rose and Crown...
