if your talking about engine management then if you have an iphone the kwik wifi 2 with the dashboard app that will read and reset codes as well as provide data on other parts of engine performance

The generic ones are all much the same. If I were buying another one, it would be an all in one handheld device that you can keep in the glove box. Ebay has loads of them for under £50.

For a tenner you can have this:

Thanks Mat
I did look on ebay but with such a plethora of different ones to choose from as well as a vast difference in price, i wanted to make sure I was getting a good one. Do they all do the same thing or are some better than others as far as the codes they read? Sometimes you only get what you pay for and whilst i'm happy saving a few bucks where I can, I hate buying something only to have to replace it because it wasn't as good in functionality or reliability as I thought it would be.
You guys are the experts so I'm happy to take your advice.

Cheers
George

Somewhere I read that the Bluetooth based code reader is a no no in our cars. ( read it after I bought one of course) so does that mean wifi is ok?

oops spelt the name wrong - its Kiwi wifi, see link below. is more expensive than the ebay ones but I use mine fine in the Mas and also in our other cars with no issue. you can also get a laptop version of the software if you don't have an iphone, I just got my misses old phone when she upgraded and thats all I use it for

That looks good for $120, or £76.50, should I see if we can get a bulk buy rate through my company..??

Matt, for a tenner that's worth a punt, depends if it actually reads the codes..??

Hi Geoff,
What is the problem with Bluetooth? Does yours work?
Ross

Hi Ross, I haven't used it as no sooner had I purchased it than I read that they screw with the electronics in the car...I'll see if I can find the info and post it here and on Maseratioz unless someone on here can do a quick post on the subject
