Agree....saw my first one a few months ago....breathetakingly beautiful

The 458 is just a stunning car Frank. I love the F355 and think it was the best looking Ferrari until now. I really don't like either the 360 or 430 - looked at plenty yesterday and they do literally nothing for me in the looks department.

I'm afraid I can't get past the woeful front 'grill'. I know the side bits serve a purpose, but the centre is just a bit of placky with a horse stuck on. A cars grill is one of its defining aspects, surely they could have come up with a more elegant solution?

Both of those are mighty easy on the eye................but the 458 is just pure poetry!!!!

Nice pictures Maf, thanks for sharing. Note the nose of a Silver 355 on the previous page, do not see many 355's in Argento, looks very nice.

Sorry Frank just can not see it........The car is striking no doubt but could never call in beautiful in eye's.......Thought seeing one in the flesh would change my mind but it didn't and the interior just looked cheap.....But hey we all see something different on a car.

Maybe qualify that Andy ........as a perfect combo......style, design, and on the road performance!

I would still choose a Gallardo LP 560 over a 458, yes the 458 is probably the better car but what i hate about Ferrari right now is all that techy nonsense like how warm the tyres are and what psi they are at and which of the 5 settings i can have for the traction control etc..... i could not care less, just give me an LP560 in Verde Ithica, a no nonsense car just 2 settins for the traction contr ol, on or off and 1 sort button.

....I concur. If I won the lottery the aero engined Bentley would be first on my list and the 458 number 2. I would, of course, keep my spyder. Got to have a bit of class in the garage!

Update time.

Went to the premises of the Classic Car Club in Old Street on Tuesday evening to mess around with a few cars. Plenty of lovely cars there, some really unusual ones amongst them. They even had a token Maserati - 3200 AC (car 6). I managed to get behind the wheel of a Mercedes 280SL Pagoda, classic Mini Cooper, Volvo Amazon, Volvo P1800, Rover P6 V8, Daimler 250 V8, Mustang convertible, BMW M635 CSi and a gorgeous Jaguar XK150S.

(Rubbish phone) pics:

Despite being LHD and manual, the 280SL felt remarkably agile and easy to drive around London's streets. The weather was lovely, so driving with the hood down made for a special experience. The M635 was a brute; that too was manual with a very heavy clutch. I was surprised that it didn't feel like a big car once behind the wheel. The XK150 was simply stunning (apologies for the terrible pic, it does the car no justice!). It has been fitted with a 5-speed gearbox from a BMW which made it easy to pilot - the sound of the straight six engine in the Barbican tunnel with the hood down made all heads turn!
