Hi guys
Got another issue. (Gotta love these cars ).
Ive found other threads on this but different causes maybe.
Got an annoying chirping from pulley area. Had 3 pulleys replaced, new belts and now a new waterpump ( on advice from the workshop) and its still doing it.
Now they're saying its the main crankshaft pulley. The car appears to have a used crankshaft pulley on it as on removal it has writing on it.
They've contacted maserati and maserati said there might be a machined washer that should go with the crankshaft pulley that isnt on any diagrams. ( eg eurospares etc.) This seems unlikely.
Question is if its the crankshaft pulley how is a brand new one going to help stop the chirp? ( its a solid piece)its l like £400 plus vat and the bolt is £45 etc.
Happy to do it but concerned of cost if it dosent work. I'vd already spent quite a bit.
Not criticising the garage they've been brilliant and these things are hard to sort.
They've also mentioned the chain behind thd crankshaft that runs oil pump might be making the noise.
Any thoughts greatly recieved.
Thanks Jim
