Hello

Well it was Carfest North this weekend which was attended by some of the guys here off Sports Maserati.
Firstly Massive thanks to Dicky for actually doing all the donkey work and organising the tickets and camping
for everyone involved, Cheers :).

Was a great event and the weather held out for "most" of the time.

So great music, well on Friday night with Texas finishing off, with some of us venturing down to the front for
a beery dance, lots of great food and of course some great cars on display and flying around the track.

Pictures to follow of Dicky's Shamal and silver Gransport, Marios lovely blue Gransport, Simon's Yellow 4200,
Max's Spyder and my 3200. And some general one's to give a sense of the weekend.

Highlight at the end for me was being allowed to leave the site via the pit lane and onto the track for a quick
squirt up a short section of track :)

Here's to next year

Fantastic weekend even the missus loved it!, mainly because of the music I have to say!

Good turnout from the forum and the GS's makes me think Dicky may be busy in Aug/Sept!

Great guys and gals and a fantastic weekend had by all. I hope Carfest are back next year ..... Mainly because I live within spitting distance!

Anyway it was great to meet a lovely bunch of people and enjoy the crack ! The Ginetta stand was memorable and will be for some time!

Well done Dicky, no sign of a SportsMaserati banner, I must get you one sorted for next year.

Can we put some names to faces?

Yeah, Evans was going on about it on the radio yesterday, looks like 3 CF's next year then!

Just got back from this years Carfest (North) and what a great day out it was despite the exit strategy. We got a good couple of laps in, made a lot of noise and upheld the marques reputation in good style. Good to see some old faces again and even the odd new one. Lots of fantastic cars as usual and Evans brought along his new LaFerrari. Which was nice. Now looking forward to the Modena trip. Bring it on! See you all soon.

Btw, on the way to Oulton the fuel light came on and there was nowhere to fill up. I did 4 'demo' laps and with the wait to get out and the drive to the nearest fuel station I thought it must be getting a bit tight. It was tighter than I thought and tighten than I ever want to get again; I put 90.1 litres into a (supposedly) 88 litre tank and it still wasn't brimmed. Good to know but expensive to fill!

Last-but-one visit to Autoshield I'd handed the car over to Marios in London and only remembered the tank was empty after he'd driven away!

As deserved, it was on fumes when I picked it up, so much so that the car went into limp mode (well, it wouldn't go more than 10mph) and had dash lights galore on...filled her up (88.3L) and all was well again. Didn't know that I got a second warning after the fuel light!
