Anyone planning any car changes this year?

After 8 years of the Ferrari 400i, my plan this year is to swap it for something else from the 1970-80 period.
Current contenders are:
Maserati Khamsin or Bora
Lamborghini Espada or Jarama
Aston Martin DBS V8 has an outside chance also.

Let the fun of the hunt begin!

No plans to change for me, the Strad needs to get proper “post covid” use and I changed my classic for the Tiger in mid 2022 so that will come into its own this year.

Your plans sound exciting, will look forward to updates.

Still have a hankering for a 720S it’s a brand SI are thinking of taking on. A ‘test’ car to train on might not be as silly as it sounds.
Certainly great value at a few years old as the early depreciation is significant. Service costs are crazy - but if you are doing it yourself and through your own business, all of a sudden a 720 might not be such a bad idea.
Far too fast for me though!

Happy New Year Ewan and all - first day of retirement from the corporate day job for me. Bit like getting divorced, poorer but happier. Will be taking stock (literally) of the car collection and deciding which ones will get used (more) and which ones can be sold through the Classic Modern Cars business. Funny, now I will have more time to play with the cars, I actually want fewer to deal with on a personal level so that I can really focus on them. Several were always intended as future stock but I have become attached as they all have a story to tell, so some difficult decisions to make this year but no rush. I am also building a website for my other love, Rene Lalique Car Mascots of the 1920s and 1930s - they don't need servicing and an MOT every year and take up much less space.

Do it Matt. They look amazing and there is not a quicker car for the money used.

I still want a P38 Range Rover, but I don't know how to do it. I need some sort of one-month trial deal.

[edited to improve text and links]
Had two P38's and neither went on a Low Loader one in the UK and one in New Zealand and would certainly have another.
They command strong money this side of the Channel.

I’ve finally, after much research, decided that the Ghibli is going to have to go. Combined factors of much more mileage and a new dog on the horizon means that an estate car is needed. My original thoughts were a Mercedes C/E 63 but the I’ve put my sensible shoes and big boy pants on and decided that a diesel is the way to go. So the contenders are 2018 ish BMW 5 series, Mercedes E Class or Audi A6. I love the Ghibli but it’s just not going to be practical going forward. It’s going in to JHM in Crewe later this month for a full service then one way or another it will be sold.

Currently that particular car is number 1 on my list. Though there’s an Espada for light restoration that’s running it close, as could be finished in my preferred spec of silver exterior with tan interior.
But the Maserati options are cheaper, which works in their favour.
Decisions, decisions.
Never even sat in either but if I was to be in a lucky a position as you I think I’d be torn between an Espada and a Khamsin. I think Malcolm Stretton had a Khamsin or at least I used to see it at the petrol station and they’re utterly gorgeous in real life.

I had a Khamsin about 14 years ago, but sold it just before they quadrupled in value. Hey ho!
It was a very lovely car, fun to drive and reliable. Who knows, it may well win the fight.
Of my options, the Khamsin is my wife’s favourite...
